Best option is to stay in the 59.X series. There are quite a few horror stories with the connections on 117.X series with my relatives/friends/neighbors.I am on BSNL since March 2006 in the 59.x series. Connection has been rock stable over the last 6 years, with two days downtime so far due to a a cable fault from a road digging. I had to complain to the exchange only once.Visit the SDE or JTO in person of your exchange. They respond very well when approached. Don't expect this to be resolved over on telephone. A personalvisit will work wonders. Please do take out the time from your busy schedule and see him.

heh. typical BSNL. Some guys have excellent service storeis(myself included) whereas others have pure horror stories. but since its pan india ISP, service mainly depends on whether the guys at exchange near your place is good or bad.

called the manoj guy. he said he would fix it. i should check it after 2-3 hours he seemed busy. was talking to someone in his office. beh. i would call him again at around 4pm if speeds are not fixed.at least he seemed polite. :\

ok. this is weird. i called again regarding my speed problem. and instead of telling me about fixing speed profile etc. the guy told me that he would send a guy at my place to check the connection i guess more delays.

try using bsnl dns for better pings.put it to automatic and see.

Give a complaint at mis.bsnl online complaint section.It will reach area manager in no time.link was provided by me earlier.Try visiting exchange. Its awesome to see for me at least.problem should solve when u visit. They will make u browse in your line itself.
