connected to airtel line right now. got sick of the lag during browsing on bsnl. the guy did not come as i had expected. would make more calls tomorrow morning.

getting better speeds right now. i tried but struggled to cross 300KBps during Ubuntu ISO downloads. is this fixed from their end? is this the best they would give on a 4mbps connection?

this is the status on my complaint:

CASE IS YET TO BE FINALLY DISPOSED OFF BY CIRCLE HEAD OFFICE . FORWARDED TO CONCERNED UNITS/SECTIONS FOR TAKING NECESSARY ACTION. PENDING AT GURGOAN HEAD OFFICE.

should i try calling the local guy again? tell him that i am getting 2.2mbps to 3.2mbps which is basically true?

i have no idea what happened in the last couple of hours. speeds are slightly better but nowhere near airtel levels. now i do not expect them to give me 4.5mbps on my line. but closer to 4mbps would be nice. so what do you suggest? live with this? complain again?

ok, 3.2 seems to be the top speed after giving torrent downloads some patience. waiting for your suggestions now.

3.2 mbps is 80% of 4 mbps... Is that the maximum TRAI has asked to provide or the minimum. :Boy Think:

heh. yeah. i have done the calculations. it's the minimum that they have to provide to me all the time. i am getting it as a maximum. so i do have a case here

Heh. Wait for the complaint to get resolved, if the speed isnt 4mbit, lodge another complaint. Basically, you can keep complaining till you don't get 4mbit exact.

ok. i would wait for them to resolve the formally filed complaint on their website. at least surfing is not that painful. i can live with this for the time being.
