:D blame the developers... the company probably has no idea what they have done with this 'novel' step.
 
well it worked !users simply disable SNMP and no more bsnl crap . never ever download their shit because upgrading modem will get u in trouble (u can search in this forum for that) and then those bsnl idiots wont understand their own crap192.168.1.1->services->SNMP->disable

Does that work with Type I modems?

In my modem (Siemens SL2_141), SNMP is disable by default. Still I am facing the problem of first web page redirection. Any other solutions?
 
@lightgreen49Please post what entries were given in the SNMP Page. ( also tr_069 client page) Thanks. (1) one user (@ lightgreen49) has disabled SNMP in his modemand redirection seems to have stopped.(2)Also uncheck TR_069 client Box . ( Under Management menu) Enabled ? Disabled ? Disable it.Delete any entries seen.( can note down details for future use )(3)Delete cache/temporary Internet files/(4) Advanced users: ( from Google search)Check atapi.sys file date. may be corrupted.(5) a Trojan malware could have infected the System.Download avz4 ( a Russian AntiViral appplication) full scan.Feedback.
 
Even blocking the offending site did not helped. The next time I connected and opened the browser to visit a diff. site, it again got redirected to the motive site.Lalit Kumar BarikOrissa
 

i didnt find this (tr_069 ) explain what is that? i m on Nokia siemen c21101.the problem is just partially solved . although i dont get redirected on first start but if the internet disconnects and there arent any downloads happening (torrents http) then it does get redirected sometime 2.if someone hasnt downloaded anything how he can have all those malware

1) nokia siemens have blocked the usual index page...try http:// modemip/main.html ( http://192.168.1.1/main.html) in that managment > tr-069 client > disable
