BAD NEWSI have recently came to know that BSNL will soon implement a Fair Usage Policy of some 6 to 8 GB in 750UL plan once it has attracted a fair number of customers. As the speeds upgrades were done suddenly this Fair Usage Policy is also going to be implemented soon. Speeds will be dropped to 256kbps again after this Fair Usage Policy limit is reached. So guys BSNL thinks a way ahead and those who think BSNL in a fool because it has announced UL1350 Plan with 2mbps till 15GB and then 512kbps thereafter THINK AGAIN So sticking to UL1350 is preparing in advance for the disaster in future. At least you get 15GB of 2mbps and then the usual 512kbps.

Then will apply for change again, or if there is no option to change, will change ISP's, BSNL is not the only game in town ;)

I'm in Vizag on business and my colleague is getting ~2mpbs on his BSNL Unlimited 625 256k plan. Go figure.

Tell him to open only gmail and rediff, otherwise speeds will get downgraded, thts how BSNL operates.

Has anybody from Bangalore got the increase in speed? I am have the UL1350 and my speed is the same. All those who I know who have either the UL750 or the UL1350 have not got the new speeds. I have tried calling CC but get disconnected after on hold for a few minutes

@wamexlapex - I am a UL1350 user in Bangalore and my speed is increased to 2Mbps(till 15GB). There are some users who already crossed 15GB :) I am yet to cross this limit. I also guess that while doing this change, they are changing your Network from old P2 (59.x.x.x) network to MP network(117.x.x.x). What is your IP starting number? Calling CC needs a great patience (I recommend Yoga breathing techniques). If the BSNL Exchange is near to your place, then please visit them.@tech123 - you are giving a shocking news that they will introduce Fair Usage Policy on UL-750 plan. I wish they don't have any FUP on the UL-750 plan.

The speed shaping machinery is connected to the multi-play network only. Hence, the need to migrate 59.xx.xx.xx subscribers to 117.xx.xx.xx

My IP starts with 59.x.x.x. I got CC a few minutes back and they started giving me that old rigmarol of checking DNS, etc. I was not able to convince them that the speed has not been upgraded from their end and there is nothing wrong with my connection. The BSNL exchange is a few yards from where I stay and the guys there do not have a clue that the plans has been upgraded to a higher speed. They told me that they would have to check and will get back to me. So I am still waiting. Regarding the 15GB limit does BSNL or Airtel actually follow this Free Usage Policy. A couple of guys who have Airtel connections told me that their speed remains the same even though they cross the limit. As for BSNL one of my neighbours has a BB Home Combo ULF 900 connections and his speed remains the same i.e 512kbps even though he crosses the 8GB limit. Last month he did 15GB without the speed being reduced. So I was wondering if they actually reduce the speed
