This problem, if I remember correctly, began before the firmware upgrade, and the reason I upgraded was because of the problem. Is there any method to roll back to the previous firmware?

it is Huawei Smart AX MT 882. POST no 1.
The modem model is Huawei SmartAX MT 880 (as shown in the pic I have given).
Suggestion 1 : Please Post screenshot of Device status showing firmware etc. Not needed if same as before. 880/882
makes no difference.
Para two:
Haven't tested EC/FDM or BitSwap yet; can't find SRA.
Suggestion 2:select both. forget SRA.
You should be far away from the Exchange as no major improvement in Attn figures but acceptable SNR must improve.
Suggestion 2> select GDMT. Glite and T413 and auto. mode.
Test tonight. and give feedback.
Para three : the screenshot is what you Posted !
After entering in address of IE alter huaweiit0.th.jpg to huaweiit0.jpg. ( delete dot th)
better use TinyPic - Share the Experience!™. faster. you can send the image by email to yourself also.

update:

waaahoo! problem seems to be fixed after replacing my 3 yr old Huawei mt800 with a new ut300r2u model :)

reps given to kanishka, essbebe and freakin_n for their suggestions to replace the modem. i thought that was the least likely reason and most probably the phone wiring was "loose" or something on the junctionbox/roadside :P

story:

finally after more than 2 weeks of dillydallying 3 people from bsnl came to my house at 3pm today (without any other modem/splitter) they saw the problem first hand, then again went away and returned after an hour with the new modem.

my mt800 was earlier showing SNR margin of 25 dB which dropped to 10-12 dB when the problem started. attaching the new modem again the SNR margin went up to 25 dB and it was syncing at 2 mbps - i am on Home 1350 and now getting full 512 kbps speed. the modem page says max possible sync speed is about 6 mbps at 25 dB SNR :) maybe thats why bsnl's iptv (which requires 6-8 mbps) service is stalling...

Is it still working?? Are you sure there is no fault in the line, because i am experiencing the same problem!!!!:wall:

Yes, it has been working without disconnections and at full speed for the last 3 days since I replaced the modem :) But that doesn't mean it's the modem for you too... could just be the line for you... but no harm in asking BSNL people to come to you house to test with a replacement modem...especially if your existing modem is a bit old...What modem model do you have and how old is it?

ya, i guess you can ask BSNL to test a replacement modem. mine was a 3 yr old Huawei SmartAX MT800 which appeared to be working fine but wasn't...

They came today they said that wire was Loose from the main pole which they couldn't figure out from the previous 2 weeks:wall:
Now lets see how long this works!!!!:yahoo:

LOL LOL LOL! :DSo its working for you now? They had replaced my wiring and put thick cabling all underground in our colony about a year ago to avoid exactly these kind of frequent complaints... but I guess beyond/outside our colony the wiring is still vulnerable...
