i had same problem a week ago n i called the guy and told him to give my modem a direct connection directly thru from the main line.so wat i have of now is a connection from the pole directly to my modem thru some sort of box which protects the modem against fluctuations n another connection from the same box to all phones in my home since we have a single point for connections all over my home and believe me its working amazing :D

My internet used to disconnect frequently too. I called the bsnl people and they said it was because i was not using the "splitter". Previously, i had connected one end of the rj-11 cable to the modem and the other end was connected to the phone in the other room. We experimented by disconnecting the phone in the other room and then the internet connection stayed stable. Now whenever i have to use the internet, i bring the phone from the other room and keep it beside my computer and connect everything via the splitter.

YesThe usage page is down though. This is what it say's.Usage Details are not available due to regular maintenance activity.Inconvenience caused is regretted.

currently usage details option is not available in data.bsnl.in and bbservice.bsnl.in is down.....:(:(

@essbebeAll my electric/phone wires are sealed within the walls so i have very little options to experiment with. Previously, my phone was in the hall but now it's in the bedroom with the computer. It works out to my advantage as long as there aren't any relatives around.

my adsl link frequently goes down every 2-3 mins. i have complaint many times not getting any response. my snr margin is very less it is around 5-6 dB downstream and 12-13dB upstream. My phone also gives some crackling sounds but I am not able to resolve the issue. Please help me

I have checked my router on another isp, it is working fine with that line.
