I want to hear from people who run their own servers at home using BSNL FTTH. I'm talking about running stuff like Jellyfin, Immich, and the *arr apps.
Some specific things I want to know:
I run several services at home but I'm behind CG-NAT, so no port forwarding. I didn't ask about static IP since the ISP guy probably wouldn't know about it. There is also no IPv6 which could have made it somewhat better. To get around this, I use:
In my case, Tailscale mostly uses relay connections when accessing from outside, which makes everything slow.
Would love to hear how BSNL works for you if you're hosting services at home, as I am planning to switch to it since it's cheaper and offers faster internet.
Some specific things I want to know:
- Do you get a static IP or are you stuck behind CG-NAT?
- How reliable is the upload speed?
- Does BSNL block or slow down torrents?
- How censored is your internet?
- Does it offer IPv6?

- Tailscale + VPS with reverse proxy to reach my services from outside
- Tailscale for private stuff like Immich
- Reverse proxy with a domain for things like Jellyfin
