Bsnl ONT vs Third party ONT

I currently use bsnl 100c modem connected to mi router for wifi. I bought NET link GPON router and when I asked the vendor to configure NET link router, the technician says only Alphion router can be configured as they are from Bsnl. Other routers such as NET link, Syrotech or Digisol or any other brands cannot be used. Is it true? Can anything be done to use the NET link router that I bought as have spent enough on this. Iam sure there must be some way or the other? Can anyone please help?

@Blue Leaf , hi, am trying to set the router but the technician say it should only be Alphion router as it needs aph number.
Also, the speed in bsnl to VPN is always slow? Checked with few friends and they say it's bsnl issue with vpn? Is that the case?
