Nice sawtooth waveform for pagefile usage.
As for stuttering, does it stutter when you are watching videos online too? That might indicate a driver conflict or a driver issuing Deferred procedure calls to the CPU leading to things like video and audio streaming lag.

I do not watch 1080p vids online, so I honestly cannot say.

@op, you should leave windows xp now. For your problems, just clean install a windows 8.1. Also 4gb ram would be good and lastly, a small capacity ssd will just end it all.

A SSD sounds like a really good idea. I've already used up my 2 RAM slots, so no additional RAM for now.Thinking of getting ADATA Premier Pro SP600 64 GB it.ADATA Premier Pro SP600 64 GB Internal Hard Drive - ADATA: Flipkart.com My usage is Youtube, email, 1080p rips, office apps. No gaming. So, I never bothered to upgrade from XP.

That ssd is pretty good and should do fine. Although Xp gives you everything you need,it's better to switch to a newer OS as XP is outdated and is not secure anymore.

If you want a reliable SSD, Samsung is the way to go. It's a bit costlier but really worth. I have a Samsung 840 Evo 120GB SSD which I bought for 6.7k a month ago.

Thanks. I'll *probably* install windows 8.1 on it. It might have better support for SSDs than XP. Plus Microsoft is ending support for XP in April, so it's only a matter of time before I upgrade.
I guess it's going to be sooner rather than later.

Thanks. Samsung was on my mind, but as this is going to be just a boot drive, will 120GB be too much?

Oh yes,Don't install XP on a ssd.It does not have good support for ssd's.Win7/8 should be good, and they will increase the lifespan of your ssd.
