princey, depends on what Shipping method you have used.
normal post would come as a postcard dropped by postman, that too if it gets thru customs without raising a flag.

if its held in customs, you would get a notice and would need to visit and pay the charges and collect it, it would be still cheaper and safer.

if it gets thru all the hick-ups and reaches your city, its entirely on postman to decide whether you need it more than he does LOL
saying that on my personal experience.

eBay guarantee is for 30-40 days, while these shipments if they make to the destination would need 50-80 days in most cases.

A high tech lock is lot less exciting for Postal workers compared to phones and laptops hopefully.

Yeah, laptops and phones shipped from Indian store may be little accountable but a normal parcel coming from origin where it cannot be returned could be a real treat.

just 1 minute back got 2 of my parcels from AliExpress 1 blazer and 2 mobile covers , got 1 parcel yesterday also , so postman is okay i guess lol

but you make a good point. it is better to get a cheapo unit. i do not need it on the front door of the house so security is not that big of an issue. convenience is.

you mentioned your home is being constructed

and i suppose you are on top floor.

can you ask your dad and the construction man , that what you are doing to stop heat on the ground floor coming from the ceiling ?

my house lanter is 10 feet high nothing built on terrace and we face severe heat on ground floor in summers , there is 2.5 inch mitti and tile brick had been put 30 years ago , now how to stop heat in todays standards? .i mean what did you do ?
