I read somewhere that they stopped working on CM10 for samsung S2 phones because of some source code related issue with samsung, is it true?

Yes, but only for i9100 and not i9100G. It's because Samsung is not releasing required documentation for the Exynos CPU used in i9100, while i9100G uses CPU from Texus Instruments for which required documentation is available.

No stable CM releases unless Samsung releases documentation. I'm sure something would work out soon as the founder 'Cyanogen' (Steve Kondik) is now working with Samsung.
