^ thats why i said netbanking is safer as in netbanking you login to bank website to make payment & the info is stored by the bank and not sites/ payment gateway

I was replying for the first word in the title, not all cards VBV secured.

thats why when you are transcating see if theer is https: in address bar or if you are using chrome simple indication that address bar right hand side goes light green in color.

Most sites use payment gateways like CCavenue/Bill Desk etc. so its safe. I avoid sites where I have to give CC info to the site directly.

never!!! do that, and for ebay and wherver possible use paypal ( however I would not do it in India since they ask for PAN number and all)

ebay india uses paisapay. that is much safer.ebay has tie up with billdesk...i trust billdesk because i have been paying bills / buying train tickets via them since 2-3 yrs now.on topic: debit card and net banking are kind of is same.. as balance gets deducted instantly from ur account.

Netbanking is safest.I have to jump so many hoops with ICICI netbanking for 3rd party payment.so it should be safe.:thumbup1:
Recent ICICI netbanking transaction redirected from letsbuy.com for making payment to buy an item..
letsbuy payment gateway to ICICI online bank page: enter ICICI online user id + pass word.
sorry... we have sent you OTP (one time password to your cell)...30 seconds later OTP arrives in cell.On entering otp ..
payment page with exact amount and beneficiary name etc....Then Enter "Transaction Password"...Not done yet

...Kindly enter the digits in the back of the debit card "A""E" "K" like that ..I get it wrong once. (believe me -I have written down in a piece of paper in bold letters ..all the no's in boxes A to P .of the ICICI debit card)
Then System gives second set of alpabets. I get it right and payment goes thro!!

In sate bank of India mostly,a password comes in to cell and on entering payment goes tho.
Debit card-after entering CSV,asks the transaction pass word " verify by visa " registered with them or ATM pin no.

Netbanking is safe.:solid:

Hmm my HDFC acct gives mr the option of creating a VCC(virtual credit card) to use online... I can select the amt for which I need the card like say I want to buy something for Rs 789 so I just create a card for Rs 800 & pay using that card... The balance amt i.e. Rs 11 is refunded into my acct after 2-3 business days... This I feel is even safer than netbanking :) ...

that means insanely secured... No loose ends, if you are not you, You CAN"T transcat at all Thanks to INDIAN government and to ICICI,,, if you think this procedure is complicated try loosing your net banking and transcation password and then generate it online THE IVR system is so riddled with number that they have ALGORITHM explain on their website about what to press when......TOOOOOOOOO SECURED and TROUBLESOME but TOOOO SECURE....

Indian banks go overboard in implementing "security measures" at the cost of usability. I prefer using my credit card online as opposed to debit/netbanking, simply because CC use only involves entering one password.
