Enable Bridge mode on GX Earth 2022 (Titanium E20)

Hi All,

I recently got an ACT 100Mbps connection with a GX Earth 2022 ONT Modem/Router (to convert optical fiber net to WAN). However, I want to use my personal WiFi 6 TP-Link Archer AX1800 router. I know that to do this, we have to enable bridge mode on GX Modem and then configure TP Link router in PPPoE (with username and password). However, when I try to do this, the TP Link router seems to flag Double NAT (additional router detected) warning. Could I know how to do this setup without any double NAT issues ?

Also, I see that the internet speed with speedtest/ookla is matching my 100Mbps plan but when I use fast.com or Plex the speed is very low at 20-30 mbps. I was just wondering if it’s the same double NAT that’s causing speed issue.

They gave you a ONT / Router combo unit? Try contacting your customer care representative or the installer to replace the unit with a GX 1000R GPON terminal.

Hi, yes that’s correct. They gave me an ONT/Router combo modem. Could I know if it’s common for ACT to provide just the ONT GX1000R Terminal ?

@nfan95 I am not sure. I have had three different connection with ACT Fibernet in different locations. The first was a FTTH connection with the Fiber terminal shared by the entire apartment complex, with the end user connection being an ethernet patch cord that needed to be plugged into a regular router. The next two connections were serviced by a FTTH connection going directly to individual apartments with just the ONT terminal being provided (GX 1000R) that needed to be connected to a different router. I have never received a Wi-Fi GPON combo device with my ACT connection.

Note: I was able to replace the GX 1000R for my current connection with a third party GPON device. Link: ACT Genexis Earth 1000R replaced with TP-LINK XZ000-G3 V2.0

Hi I have the TP-Link XZ000-G7 terminal. Could I know how do I set it up to work with my router ? I tried few things and while the status does show as registered I don’t see Internet connectivity. Also, for some reason I can’t find any VLAN scan option in network settings so curious to know if there’s any other way to perform VLAN scan.

For reference, I am trying to use settings similar to what’s described in this video (minus the VLAN tagging as I am not sure if my ACT connection has any VLAN as my old GX modem also didn’t have any VLAN ID mentioned in the PONWAN page).

nfan95 Did you find the workaround? Is the internet working on your XZ000-G7 terminal? I am on the same boat, I have TP-Link XC220-G3v and sadly its not connecting despite the status is Registred(O5).

Brdr, try changing the last digit of the GPON SN and check if you still get O5. If so, you'll have to use mode X as OLT mode in the XPON settings

tr1k0N4 OMG, only changing the mode to X as OLT mode in the XPON settings connected me to the Internet. Thanks a lot brother.
