Extremely slow surfing speed on MTNL Broadband

the surfing speed is perfect.. like normal but i am not able to download anything through torrent.. the speeds r pathetic not exceeding 40 kbps when my usually speed on worse of days is around 150 kbps.. while downloading through torrent..

the local tel exchange guy called and it's from server end .. this was his excuse..

surfing speed is good for me .. even excellent .. but the youtube streaming is too slow and even torrent as i said is just not working..
 
even at 2mbps, youtube was not buffering 360p! in chrome
so i changed the browser to Firefox, and now it streams well!
don't know the reason but working out for me..
 
is it some issue with dns.. as my torrent is just not working .. i can watch youtube with tolerable speed and even the international ping is gone.. should i change to google dns
 
Changing DNS is an eye wash really. MTNL DNS's are the best because they provide lowest response time and even if you change to google dns, it routes through your ISP only.

i changed back to mtnl..what is ur torrent download rate.. my issue is only with torrents .. rest all is fine.. even i am able to dowload youtube videos at around 100kbps rate.. but torrent is like 2kbps..
