if this is THE latest version of Airtel Fair Usage Policy, it is a step in the right direction. But I cannot really take this email as a fact. :|

are you serious? this email does nothing. i am not going to argue on the basis of this email that i still have 100GB FUP.

@Sushubh

So, for 1299 plan, when one crosses 100 GB FUP, the speed goes from 1 MBps to 512 kbps during day.

At night, the speed will resume to 1 Mbps even if FUP was crossed, right?

If that is true, then when I cross 100 GB FUP, my 1299 plan will become like my current 1499 plan!

So, in the worst case scenario, the speed will reduce to my current 1499 plan. (512 kbps at day/ 1 mbps at night)

I am not losing anything if the above scenario is true. I will be saving 200 rupees.

IF the 100 GB FUP is correct, then it makes sense for me to migrate to 1299 plan.

What happened to that 15 GB nonsense? There was no mention of it in that document.

well i think the daytime and nighttime speed difference was for plans with different speeds during day time and night time. and as for the mail i got. i am pretty sure that the dude just mailed me some old copy of the original FUP from airtel. the mail makes no reference to IPTV plans. it talks about broadband plans. and well all the new broadband plans (At least for delhi region)... have the FUPs clearly defined. he is simply not getting what i am stating. and he is from the airtel presence team. so well. we got to accept the fact that there is no help from airtel getting details about their own freaking plans.

that is why I was emphasizing about "if the 100 GB FUP policy stated in that document you received is true"

I do not want to be in a situation where I migrate to 1299 plan and then later discover that FUP is indeed 15 GB.

I will be screwed if that happens as I cannot revert back to my 1499 plan with 100 GB FUP as it does not exist anymore.

Can you send this document to YOU KNOW WHO and have this latest FUP verified from him?

EDIT : I think that if one can get the airtel people to post this document on their website officially, it will be more reassuring

you know who just escalates the matter. and well this matter is already very much escalated. i am pretty helpless right now.

i have replied to that mail though. here is what i said:

Ok. here is the thing.

i am pretty sure that the FUP details you sent me are not up to date.

you referred to an outdated document.

airtel has clearly defined FUPs on their broadband plans (at least in delhi region).

limits on all unlimited plans are below 50GB.

there is no current plan that has a FUP of 100GB. no 512kbps plan. no 1mbps plan.

----

what i wanted to ask was details of the older and current IPTV plans with FUP specifications.

if i accept that your email to me is correct, you are saying that i can migrate to 1299 IPTV plan and i would get 1mbps till 100GB and after that 512kbps?

please confirm this and revert back.

If they reply in the affirmative and say yes that FUP is 100 GB, how will that be more assuring than the document they sent you before?

How would you know that the guy who gave you the assurance actually knows what he is talking about?

One should force Airtel to make changes to that TRAI pdf file and post these details there that were sent to you in that document.

That will make it more official, won't it?

Atleast now u have proof that its 100GB FUP and you can quote this mail to them if ur speed goes down after 100GB

It can be as less as 15 GB or 25 GB

I just commited what may eventually be considered broadband suicide. I called up CC and requested to be migrated to 1299 plan. :iomg:

What can I say.. I like to live dangerously. I am counting on the common sense that 100 GB Fair Usage Policy will be applicable to this plan.

Otherwise I am SO SO screwed! :O

Pray for me... Light candles at temples, mosques, churches, gurudwaras..... :icry:

i am with you. i do believe that airtel would not apply FUP for IPTV customers yet. but i am not going to take the dive. now that you have. i can learn from your experiences.
