here are some tweets from airtel presence folks.

Dear Sushubh Airtel has started the process of migrating its Broadband Customers - These upgrades are happening in a phased manner
& are likely to get completed by June end(as shared in the press release in March). There is a possibility of some spill over into
early july. Further, all IPTV customers are a part of the upgrade plan. We have already upgraded 256/384Kbps IPTV customers to
512Kbps. Remaining(upto 1Mbps plan speeds) would be upgraded as per the plan.
Given below are the details asked for by you on existing/new Speeds and Fair Usage Policy limits
Plan: 256kbps Unlimited Old Fair Usage Policy: None New Fair Usage Policy: 10 GB Speed downgrade on original plan: NA Speed downgrade on upgraded plan: 256 Kbps
Plan: 512kbps UL Old FUP: 100 GB New FUP:25 GB Speed downgrade on original plan:256 Kbps Speed downgrade on upgraded plan:512 Kbps

the last tweet is confusing.

here is their twitter page. Airtel Presence (Airtel_Presence) on Twitter

I don't understand what they are saying by 256/512 plan. confusing as hell. what is upgraded plan?what that seems to say is the new maximum FUP is 25 GB.That is bad news for me. whatever. I have no option now. I am stuck with it.;)I'll try the 1299 plan for a month. If FUP sucks too bad, I'll switch over to MTNL broadband.... say bye to IPTV...

I'll cross 25 GB in maximum 4 days @ 1Mbps! :pI am assuming I will get 1 MBps speeds till I cross Fair Usage Policy. when I cross Fair Usage Policy, my speed will become 512 kbps. I am hoping the speeds will return to 1 mbps at night. If that is not the case, I'll have a problem. If I am stuck with < 1 mbps speeds at night, I'll have a problem....I will then have to seriously consider MTNL....I think subconsiously I am wanting to switch over to MTNL. I am tired of this BS from Airtel.

If I am stuck with 1 mbps speeds at night, I'll have a problem....

dude what are you saying? has airtel already driven you nuts?

ah you mean if they give you 512k at day and 1mbps at night after FUP after 25GB, you would have a problem?

i am not sure.

Here's how I look at it.

I cross FUP. they downgrade me to 512 kbps. Ok fine.

I am assuming this downgrade of speeds is not applicable at night.

So, on Crossing FUP, my new plan becomes like my old plan. Only I AM paying 200 rupees LESS!

What do I have to lose in this scenario. I am gaining 200 rupees, right?

so you are betting on they not reducing your speeds at night after FUP.

and you are also expecting them to reduce the speeds by half only during the day time?

the worst case scenario is that you would be left with 256kbps all day long after crossing 25GB.
