the soft 404 errors are for regular thread pages on the forum. i can only assume that forum pages times out for a few moments here and there for google spiders. the number is not very large. just a few hundred links which work when i check them manually. but it does indicate that there are server issues that otherwise goes unnoticed. very hard to monitor and fix.
