ok so indexing worked on second attempt. still going on but search works. and it seems quite fast and nice.

Do note down the time it takes for full index. Because you might have to re-index your instance time to time.

it was done a few minutes ago lol. happened much faster on web interface compared to cli which somehow didn't work. this has been a frustrating learning experience. now waiting for 2.2 stable launch so that i can get the cool new features powered by elastic.

Installed similar threads add-on. It's not the same thing that is going to be included in 2.2 as it relies only on titles of the thread. But seems to be doing fine. Would keep an eye on server load before deciding if I would keep it on till 2.2 goes gold. 2.2 launch should not be far away though. It is already in Beta 3 so maybe a few weeks at most.

lol. there is little i can do about it to be honest. i am on cloudflare so you have the option to turn on ESNI in Firefox to access it. This block happens randomly for a small group of members and is usually gone after a few hours. Unless the block is real and permanent, I doubt, there is much I can do about it right now

It's likely some stupid issue with routing. Happens every couple of days based on responses here

This happens mostly with cloudflare and AWS. I remember at the start of lockdown, every morning access data in AWS US servers was almost impossible
