my experience with cheap samsung phone has been bad. i got metro branded models for both mom and dad. both units have battery life problems. though most people seem to be quite happy with samsung budget phones.

well, this is the first samsung phone i have purchased so cant comment in general, but this phone is pretty solid builtwise.

got this for mum couple of weeks back for about 4k. solid build quality, large screen, and the flip avoids the keypad lock/unlock hassles . . . overall its been a hit with her. also with a brushed aluminum finish outside and the flat keypad inside give it quite a premium feel.
