what will you do with speed when there is FUP. Infact with 15 Mbps connection am more scared that I will run out of FUP limit
That's the problem. With higher speed, data consumption increases dramatically. Youtube defaulting to 720p or 1080p, is a prime example where we exhaust the data caps on faster speeds.

Thx! Unfortunately my modem is up on the wall because of cabling issues! The router is probably not an issue as I get good speeds on my phone
Did you try changing the server on speedtest? Sometimes a bad cable can also impact speed.

After updating win 8.0 to 8.1 (3gb) and Macbook to Maverick (5gb) I've exhausted my 10gb! Took an addon pack for 10gb @560 bucks
Think about the time saved in downloading that stuff. On a 2 mbps, you would have to put it to download overnight. I managed my Win 8.1 ugrade in 15 mins (downloading the stuff) and then there was a 2 to 3 min delay at 66% installation when I believe more files are downloaded.

GOOD NEWS :
I spoke to someone from the Hathway head office, who confirmed that Mumbai suburbs will be getting the Docsis3 50Mbps connections very soon. When I asked how soon, he said probably end of this month or maybe 1-2 weeks. He said the work on the backend is almost done, and customers can use a new modem on the same cable line.

Where do you stay ? And which areas did he mean are covered in suburbs ? Central side / western side ?

Western suburbs. I have confirmed this information from the head office and from the local technical team, who already have working docsis lines being tested at their offices. They also said, the marketing and promotion is on it's way. They'll be distributing flyers and promoting it online as well. Once the local technical team is done testing, they'll come replace my modem and activate the new line.

Docsis 3.0 is available till Borivali according to their website.
Is it worth going for? If I take the 1 year option on 50 GB FUP, the charges are same as MTNL ADSL 8 Mbps with 50 GB FUP.
Has anybody here experienced any problems with these guys?
