How to check BSNL Broadband Account Usage?

well, i have tried DU meter and i feel it will do everything you need..it has a graph..keeps records on hour to hour basis.yap! it always displays summary day wise, hourwise and monthwise.No Internet monitoring software is based on BSNL portal, they have their separate recording unit..Just check out DU meter.

hi i am from jaipur. i asked on 1500 before using double usage and they told me that i have it. i am also a continue user from jan2008.i downloaded 2.4 GB extra. and i also got that same mail on my bsnl mail id.i got relief to hear that you got your hard copy bill and they haven't charged you. now i am also waiting for my hard copied bill to see what happens to me.i will let you know about me. usually i get bill after 20 of every month

This is a typical question on billing. In the month of October I changed my usage plan from Home 250 to Home 750 UL Plus. This change was done on 13th and is being shown in the bill. Data usage log shows 01/10/2008 to 13/10/2008 usage = 0.498GB and 14/10/2008 to 31/10/2008 = 25 GB. However the bill calculates amount for data usage like this25.5GB-1024MB)*0.901024 MB is the free limit of Home 250 and 90 paise is the usage charge for every extra MB. Is this calculation correct? Why should I be charged for data usage when plan has been changed to Unlimited?No one in the BSNL office seems to know the exact rules. I'm stuck hopelessly. You great gurus of the forum please help me with info so that I can take up my case armed with proper info!!!

Well your plan was changed on the 13th, so whatever data transfer happens from the 13th shouldnot be charged at all. Its strange that you are cahrged for it. First call : 1800-424-1600 and report your problem. They will most probably take a complaint under Billing Issues. If your issue still doesn't get resolved, then get in touch with your concerned AO(TR) department...!

Well those people didn't update their database that Nov allows double uage for the users. Thats why users received it but were not charged extra for it later..!

Your are entitled to 0.433 GB free usage until 13th Oct.You have used 0.498 GB.Now please specify if this 0.498 GB is including / excluding night unlimited usage ??If this 0.498 GB is excluding Night unlimited then you have to day for 67 MB extra.1) Rental upto 13th Oct = 250/30*13 = 108.332) Rental onwards 13th Oct = 750/30*17 = 4253) Charges for 67 MB extra download = 67*0.90 = 60.304) Basic Plan rental upto 13 oct, addon plan rentals, voice calls, etc

Well Sahyadri, that was such a nice explanation. Now I have 1 query for you. Even I got my plan changed from the 12th of this month. So accordingly, I have done the calculation following your structure. My UL 750 (Rather 500 with reduced cost) Plan started from 12th December. Till 11th I was on Home 500. Upto 11th my chargable data transfer(excluding NU) was 1002.69 MB. So I guess this is how it should go:** Rental upto 11th Dec = (500/30)*11 = Rs.183.33** Rental from 12th Dec to 31st Dec = (500/30)*20 = Rs.333.33** Free Usage allowed till 11th Dec = (2560 MB/30 Days) * 11 Days = 938.66 MB Chargable Units = (1002.69-938.66) MB = 64.03 MB * 0.80 = Rs.51.22 Sahyadri, please tell me if this calculation is correct or not..! Do lemme know if there are any mistakes...!!

I already tried IUM - it doesn't count bandwidth. NETmeter don't have any option of session wise recording. I am not sure about DU meter. will check today. If you find any utility which checks both time and bandwidth and report session wise (From - TO time) then plz let me know. Thanks!
