I called 1500 to complain about not being able to check usage and was told to contact the "nearest technical support centre" and the guy put down the phone without giving me the number or the chance to explain that most likely it is a "nation-wide" problem!!

I can check records at data.bsnl.in BUT Only data of 5th is available. What is the time frame of usage stats updating ?

Guys, it is 7th Jan and still I can't check usage. :OCalled BSNL office and they said don't worry, if internet is working use as much as you want you will find the amount in bill anyway. :wall:

From the end of Dec2008 the usage info screen was not working.

After placing repeated complaint in toll free numbers 12678 & 1500,
I received a call from local internet control room (not Bangalore)
on 7th Jan afternoon asking me to try BSNL Portal.

When I tried it worked on 7th afternoon and I could get my usage details
(not upto date, I think it was showing the details upto 5th Jan09).

For more than 7 days bsnl broad band customers were kept in dark.

It is the duty of the service provider to give the upto date usage info
to the customers.

We all must join together and request bsnl to make this facility available
on 24X7 basis without any break with latest info.

Please suggest where all we can lodge this complaint.

How about TRAI and the grievance cell connected to PM office.
Please suggest more places where there will be more impact.

We all must bombard these addresses with our request at a time.
And I hope they will do something about it.

A person told me that this usage screen info is handled by
a private party on contract basis. I dont know how far it is true.

It is our right to know where we are ( i.e., how much we have consumed so far).

And it is the duty of the provider to upgrade their systems
to provide this facility.

Please try these two sites for usage details,
if you are lucky, you will get thru.

I have Home 500 plan. I am having a hard time trying to understand how usage is measured?? :wall:I have never used BSNL before. I am using the built in scheduler in utorrent to download between 2 AM and 8 AM. Do I have to switch off my modem at 2 AM to start a new session??Or does BSNL automatically detect and exclude the amount downloaded in that period?

Just now I was able to check usage. The bbservice.in portal is working and the records too are available.
