How to Connect TP-XZ000-G7 to Airtel Xstream Broadband?

@akshay71 That makes sense. Now that I think about it, I did notice an odd issue with the Huawei as well. When I used the same ONT with the Kerala LCO (BSNL, KV etc), I just needed to create a bridge profile and define the VLAN, I never bound it to a port. However on Airtel, that never worked. I could connect only if I bind the bridge profile with the VLAN to a port and establish PPPoE directly ie VLAN management handled at the ONT. Could be because of this translation issue that you mentioned.

I’ll check if an OMCI client is available on the Huawei and see if I can extract this info.

@MrGordon Will the TP-Link XZ000-G7 works with the Asianet Broadband (Direct) by cloning the GPON S/N ? I tried on the Netlink ont it has an option to clone the GPON S/N and I filled the vlan but it didn’t worked

@akshay71 So I got these from the Huawei ONT, not sure how to interpret this. Any ideas?

Code:
WAP(Dopra Linux) # omcicmd mib show 171 65535
omcicmd mib show 171 65535

Me(171)(Extend Vlan Tag) has 1 instances, instance size is 40

  -------------------------------------------------------
WAP(Dopra Linux) # omcicmd mib show 84 65535
omcicmd mib show 84 65535

  -------------------------------------------------------
Me(84)(VLAN Tagging Fi) has 2 instances, instance size is 28

No luck with 2307 or 2308. Same status as before.

No XPON downstream stats are shown, it remains 0.

@akshay71 I have both VSOL and photon onu would be happy to help you if you want to buy from me.
feature wise, fw everything is same , just that vsol ones are a bit costly than photon ones

@MrGordon you need to scan vlan And AFAIK you had hsgq sfp right?

@MrGordon

This should be the output of that command someone posted on github. Their actual VLAN was 4051 for Internet and 4052 for Voice. But had to use 1502 for internet and 1493 for voice.

Why are you adding 65536 after the command?

Code:
AP#omcicli mib get 171

@akshay71 I think that’s the output from a different device. On the Huawei that I have the output doesn’t show the same way. So was a bit confused on how to interpret it.

The 65536 is as per the syntax shown in the CLI, it said to use 65536 if you want to see all the data.

Code:
[Usage]:omcicmd mib show {me-id} {inst-id}
me-id: 65535 show all me and inst info
inst-id: 65535 show all inst info

In my case, it looks like the OLT is of Tajas Networks make.

Code:
WAP(Dopra Linux) # omcicmd mib show 131 65535
omcicmd mib show 131 65535

  -------------------------------------------------------
Me(131)(OLT-G) has 1 instances, instance size is 54
  -------------------------------------------------------
Instance ID = 0x0000, Instance Content:
  544a4e57 4f4c5400 00000000 312e3000 00000000 4f675365 312e3000 00000000
  -------------------------------------------------------

The first part in ASCII is TJNWOLT, and TJNW is the vendor id of Tejas Networks.

hey guys - 2 days back I had raised request for Static IP deactivation... I am yet to receive confirmation from Airtel

but meanwhile I removed static IP from ONT and configured PPPoE, my WAN IP on Asus bridge router is different (122.179.31.XX) and my static IP was (122.166.190.XX)...

now when I do a tracert, I get below result
Tracing route to dns.google [8.8.8.8]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 1 ms 1 ms 1 ms RT-AX1800HP [192.168.1.1]
2 6 ms 5 ms 4 ms abts-kk-dynamic-001.4.179.122.airtelbroadband.in [122.179.4.1]

does this mean I am now not on static IP ? I am little confused
