How to use static IP with bridged mode?

@nishantt6969 DHCP lease time has nothing to do with disconnections every 20 minutes. Keep the DHCP lease for valid for 4 to 12 hrs or even more. I also assume your fibre line optical signal strength is good i.e. < -25 dB

I checked the router manual. It has very basic WAN configuration options and nothing much you could adjust/tune there. Can you reboot the ONT & the router to check the behaviour? If this disconnection issue repeats check with Airtel for a solution.

I have to reconnect it by tapping on connect button.
where? on the router? or your ONT?
In your router, if you are using static IP there should not be any CONNECT button. That connect button will show in the case of PPPoE.

Btw, my static IP also stops providing internet after some time when used on my Linksys router on Bridge. And, I thought that's my IP issue because if I change the gateway from x.x.x.1 to something like x.x.x.254 internet starts working.

@Aashish.007 Airtel records to the MAC for device authentication on the OLT but not for PPPoE connections. A router in bridge mode will already be registered with them.

@imdarkray @nishantt6969 guys it's better you speak to Airtel 121 for help because I think this issue is from the backend server which is disconnecting you at intervals. I use a PC running pfSense to authenticate and run the show on my home LAN and Airtel's connection has remained without disconnection for up to 3 weeks. Yes, that's right 3 weeks after which I rebooted the machine. It may have continued with the same IP for longer than that.

One more thing that came to my mind - depending on your router model check if you can set your WAN port to the same VLAN ID (100 in case of Airtel) and priority 0 (zero). I have configured pfSense to do this on both WAN connections i.e. TSBB and Airtel.

@Chip I don't face issue with PPPoE on bridge. The issue is only with static ip. The internet stops after some time. Like 20-25mins with x.x.x.1 gateway. But if I change the gateway to x.x.x.254 or any live ips, internet starts working. I already had a word with the Airtel backend team, the guy I talked with said, he can't do much if I am using the ip on bridge. According to him, the ip might be conflicting locally which is not at all possible. Based on what I have diagnosed, the static ip I have received shows under Airtel dynamic ips. And the Airtel might be assigning this to someone else over PPPoE.
Anyway I have asked for a new ip. I am sure this issue is with th ip nothing else.

@imdarkray We can get our demanding gateway for static IP? Like I am from Lucknow, but gateway is Delhi(not much difference in Ping, but qualify to internet is improved, like no discord issue thing now)
