Correct, so you need to quote the market price/price that you bought - Whatever :D Then the "discount" can be negotiated upon

ok. this is what i paid. now bid :P

----------

We would like to inform you that regarding the color replacement we cannot assure you as of now and would be able to let you know once we receive the product as we have to check with the concerned department.

If the defect can be resolved at our end we will resolve it and will dispatch the same product. But if the product itself is defective then we will replace it with a brand new one.

Great. BTP is now playing games.

So even with DOA letter, they can still claim to "resolve" & dispatch the same unit again ?

apparently this is what they are saying. i am not giving the unit to the pickup guy unless they clarify their position. have sent this response to HTC asking them what is the problem with DOA certificate. buytheprice is looking for trouble here.

This is BS :( Company authorised service center already classified this as defective and provided DOA certificate.. after this what BTP is going to do? Distributor or Dealer cannot be classified themselves as service center and AFAIK only HTC authorised service center can open the device and check it. Where BTP comes into picture now?

BTW your story some what narrates my HTC Flyer experience :( But for me HTC was helpful to me.. and asked me to give the DOA and device to the same service center and they were ready to replace the device for me , but only drawback.. they asked me to wait for 10 days as the replacement device needs to come from HTC.
But i fought with the dealer(koovs.com) and made lot of complains to several forums, FB and finally dealer itself delivered the new piece :)

Update

Looks like they changed their mind. Got a call. Was told that they would send me a replacement. I should return the unit to the guy who would come to pick it up tomorrow.

************

Just wanted to start a new thread about Buy The Price.

Regulars here would know that I had issues with my One X smartphone that I purchased from them.

I got a DOA document from HTC Service Center and sent them the same.

And they responded in an email that they would try to resolve the issues with the handset before deciding on sending me a replacement.

If the defect can be resolved at our end we will resolve it and will dispatch the same product. But if the product itself is defective then we will replace it with a brand new one.
We would like to inform you that as per the two links which you have sent us regarding the defect we will try to sort out those two issues. If the issue is not resolved we will replace you with a brand new product.

Problem with this attitude is that HTC has issued a DOA certificate for the unit. They are going to get a replacement from the company through that certificate. What is the problem them?

I am trying to get a response from the company. I have refused to send them the faulty unit. I have tried explaining to them that the problems are not constant and they are unlikely to be able to reproduce them but no use.

Freaking experience gone terrible bad.

This link should make it easy to retweet my tweet about this!

Cool. This is their latest response.

I understand your concern as you wanted to consult company first please find the customer care number for HTC below: +1800 266 3566

No F U C K S were given about my concerns.

I think , for all new electronics , if the problem arises within a month or so , he/she can ask for a replacement and i havent seen any company repairing that electronic device.

well... most dealers and service centers would probably try to get the problem repaired. if it is less than a month old and the problem is a manufacturing defect, it depends upon the customer to fight for a replacement. laws are not very consumer friendly. there are no regulations on returning a faulty product.

AFAIK, DOA (Dead On Arrival) Certificate is issued for a device which simply does not function in any manner immediately after buying. In OP's case, he was using the handset all this days normally.Except for a video garbage issue in a specific you tube video ( which he could not reproduce again) and some red light near the sensor, all other functions of the phone worked as he described in experience thread.I am wondering how on earth you managed to get a DOA certificate from HTC in this case?
