John Connor: No, you shouldn't exist. We took out Cyberdyne over ten years ago. We stopped Judgment Day.
Terminator: You only postponed it. Judgment Day is inevitable
actually, this Proximity sensor glowing happens with my HTC One X too only when I am on a call.. there's no video glitch/screen glitch happening though.. battery life has improved now...surely, there's a luck involved in buying a product without warranty here.. I did purchase N1 2 years back from gaffar and it had never given me problems, still runs smooth on 2.3. my only complaint with it was low internal storage for app installation..
I can't believe this!!!! Even the sensor on my Motorola Defy+ glows :iomg:, slight red in colour.
But it's very dim, you'll only be able to see it if you carefully view that part.
But as these are IR LEDs, it should not be visible to naked eyes right?

I remember that on Motorola Stock Android 2.3.6 ROM there was an option to automatically put the screen off when put in pocket or a cover. Maybe a similar setting was activated in your phone which resulted in the proximity sensor glowing continously. You may just see if such setting exists on HTC One X. If yes, try activating it and see if the sensor glows continuously, I bet it would.
I don't remember the exact phrase of that setting as I'm now on CM 7.2 which doesn't have this option.
You say unit used to glow for hours - So does it stop at some point - say a few hours? If so, then that doesn't seem to be some sort of a permanent setting change.
