Hi,I was using BSNL broadband for last 2 years and had some problems but those were okay. But hell break loose when we changed our apartment. I applied for shifting of address more than 4 weeks back and filled all required forms. They cut our telephone line and broadband in the 2nd week of July as well. But till now my broadband is not up. Even for the phone I had to get hold of some senior official to get it done. Now when the phone got connected they told us we did your internet too. But when I tried it did not work with the same userid/pwd. I thought those might have been changed. So I called up BSNL customer service from my Hutch mobile. They told me only if you call from landline you can be connected to broadband helpdesk. What the hell~!! offcourse I tried more than 30 times from home and never got the line. So I took a leave and went to broadband cell to get my userid/pwd. that guy told me your broadband is not even connected!! Then he called the office and told why you have sent him here. When I came back local telephone guys took my modem number. That happened on wednesday. Till date I am without the connection. Airtel is not available in this area. I am really really fedup and if I get some good response of Tata Indicom I will switch. I know BSNL can live like this as they have many customers...but this experience has really tested my patience. BSNL customer service and service in general sucks..big time. I really don't have any idea as to what to do with them and really hope this never happens to anyone.

Welcome to Broadbandforum.in
Sory to hear CC at Kolkatta did not get your BB restored at new location.
1.To confirm whether your old BB connection has been disabled
Log on to usage portal and check your usage for July/2008. and August 2008.
2. Check your telephone bill "on line" for old as well as new numbers.
3. IF the exchange has changed , there is some mix up in the "work order" issued.
4.Call CC and say BB not working.Give old userID and Password and new Telephone number !
5. Wait . searching for 'ONLINE" complaint site , or email address of the "babus"

He is a customer of calcutta telephones not west bengal telecom circle.
Sorry. I picked the wrong "Babu"
I don't know in which area he is in Kolkatta .Oh No. Again mistake. Is it Calcutta ?
and under Calcutta Telephones.
Hope the following information will help him.
Main idea was to send email or make an ONLINE complaint to the "babus"
since he had gone to the exchange and met CC etc.

Thank you so much for your replies. I went and met with DE Internal in my locality and tried to explain the problem. According to him the user id and password are same and I "should" be able to connect to net. But when I try from my home I still get authentication failure...it seems I have to go with my modem again and try to make them understand once more. I have a query will a userid/password combo in BSNL bb work with any phone number? When I take modem to tel off will they be able to connect from their ph lines with my user id and password?thanksanindya

bsnl .. its govt dept .. and u never expect quick customer service with gove dept .. until u been there 5-6 time .. they don't take u r matter .. and many time u need to pay some bribe to get work done .. thats pretty sad .. :( ...

oh I forgot to mention..when I asked DE internal to look into my userid/pwd to check if it's okay in bb usage site... he could not connect to his own bb since he forgot the pwd.!!!! I did know to what to do...cry or laugh...or both...:wall:

will a userid/password combo in BSNL bb work with any phone number?
NO.
Your old acct has to be activated in the new Exchange and Exchange should connect with your UserId and password.( If Exchanges are different )
1. You got your telphone bill for July 2008 ?
How you are billed for BB usage in july ?
2. Since you say you were using BB for two years your IP could be 59.xx.xx.xx. The USERID and password to check in and usage portal same.
3.Did you send an email to any body ? for not getting BB connection in new number.?
Quote Old number date disconnected. consumer acct number.
New number connection date. consumer acct number.
Non availability of BB with Old UserID and PW.
Para two Check at usage web site your JULY acct .
