lol they seem to have a new web portal for newer customers. does not accept my mobile number though so account is probably not yet created. cheque is also not processed so i guess not getting the kit today as well.

Interestingly, it asks for mobile number. It would be cool if I do not have to keep a record of more usernames and passwords and transaction passwords and apins and mpins... Would find out soon enough. Folks have mentioned here that their mobile app is also quite basic. I hope they have plans for an improved app as well. But then as long as UPI works, it should be fine I suppose.

Another bank abusing 1860 numbers. At least bank account support is on 1800 from the looks of it. No landline number mentioned. They do have a landline number for NRI customers. I do wonder if it would work for local bank account holders.

I mean why the fuck would you charge for support from your credit card customers!

With practically all local calls free from mobiles and landlines... it's time these banks dump 18xx and switch to regular numbers.

nothing has happened so far. i applied on 23rd. there was a three day bank holiday in the middle. but they had the entire of 24th to start the process i guess. even the cheque is not cashed yet. hopefully some progress today.

Offtopic: which bank still has reachable human customer support service?

Hdfc is not even entertaining their credit card users only option on IVR which connects to a human is loan and they will again transfer you to IVR if you want some other information. 😒

I want to know about some charges which only phone banking support can provide. Their social media team, stupid chat bot everyone will say call us. But there is no way to get past the IVR it's so stupid. 😡🤬

Worst part is even bank branches have become quite useless. Indus was excellent till few years ago with the older staff. Now it's hopeless. SWIFT payment became extremely painless as the new staff has no idea how it is processed. Any question I ask requires the staff to send emails to get clarification. And every time I take a self cheque to take cash from the counter, I am advised to upgrade to a higher debit card so that I can take out cash using it instead of using cheque. Hopefully IDFC would be better lol.

I also got terrible support when I wanted to link the stupid credit card they gave me. Their mobile app and the website were rejecting the card for connecting it to my account. Tried multiple times but no help. Eventually asked them to just block the card and cancel it. I still have no idea if it is cancelled properly. Making another call seems like an annoying idea because reaching a real person was annoying back then.

My experience with Yes has been much better but the state in which they are now, it is just hard to stick to it for primary banking.

You can connect to SBI credit card team almost instantly, after obviously a tedious process of pressing 1s and 2s. Their normal banking phone support is trash.

yeah. sbi seems to be handling their card department well. good cards. good offers. and i believe even a dedicated app.

just tried connecting the card again and this time around request went through. it's submitted as a regular request. hopefully this should clarify if the card or the card account is active or not. would suffer through phone support if nothing comes out of this.
