Is TP-Link Archer C6 good enough for 100mbps access point?

Is C6 good enough for 100mbps access point? My really really old Buffalo router has become quite painful to use in the corner most room of the house

Reduced both TP-Link and mi to the lowest power settings lol. Was planning to replace mi with buffalo. Maybe sometime later this week.

Short answer to OP's q - Yes. Its wifi 5 gives ~ 350 mbps.

Exactly, I have no clue why they have disabled OneMesh when you use another router in AP mode. That's like crippling the product. But if a router supports OneMesh, the range extenders become pointless so might be from a commercial perspective.

@varkey , to add, from what i recollect, these 'range extenders' do not support a wired backhaul. Only the more expensive TP-Link Deco mesh does. Which makes perfect sense from a commercial standpoint. If two C6 had mesh support, why buy the M4 for more than double price?

Just a reminder TP-Link is a Chinese company. Thats why I went for D-Link.

I agree w/ the Chinese sentiment, but D-Link uses very crappy MediaTek processors. That's one reason I'd stay away from them. Netgear is better (its TWN based and quality is very good).

TP-Link has good hardware and very cheap but lacks software support.
Netgear is bit expensive but has good hardware and support.

The only reason you should buy a TP-Link is if you are going to replace it's SW with something like a OpenWRT. But, come on guys - lets avoid Chinese! Its sad that we dont have a reliable Indian OEM!!

It's just not about sentiment, Chinese Routers have some security vulnerabilities (Though not as much as Trump says). Another reason Chinese routers are cheap because they copy others designs & the firmware too. If you see closely, as soon as Netgear, Linksys etc. launches a new product you will see a copied chinese alternative next to it.

So coming back to the subject, @Sushubh did you manage to get this going, have you replaced/or planning to replace stock.
@REST_ALL, those who are running DD/OPEN wrt, can you share your use case and services running on the box. Or point to a thread if already one... would be a good compilation for ppl planning upgrades/replacements,

i reduced power to the wireless antennas which more or less solved the issue with phones staying connected to faraway router for now.
