@Citrus It supports n78 one of the bands Jio uses. However it doesn't support n28. n78 is good here in Kerala, I have locked the band to n78 in my 5G device.
@Kastenbrust Hello Mr Kastenbrust, I have a problem and I searched a lot of forums but no where could I find a solution.
My problem is: I have a OnePlus Hub 5G Router and it supported Jio 5G up til 27th June, and now there isn't any network reception at all, and in the router settings it shows Invalid sim, but the sim works with phones.
I have tried other relatives SIM cards and it's the same story.
I felt like it might be an IMEI related problem so I wanted to change the IMEI to my S21+'s, but that doesn't work either cuz there's no way to telnet/ssh into the router.
I tried opening the pcb but there's no indication of UART header on it. If you want the pics I can send them to you.
What do you suppose I should do?
Is there anyway to gain root access to this CPE?
@ssavy Bro I heard that a lot of OnePlus hub 5G users are facing the Jio 5G problem .Is there any issue with the Airtel 5G ?(In the OnePlus community I heard that there is no issue with Airtel whatsoever).I’m getting the OnePlus hub 5G tomorrow hoping that it will work with the Airtel 5G
@Sanemi So far there doesn't seem to be any problems, but keep in mind that Airtel has a 300GB per month FUP on their "unlimited" 5G like you said, after which they can block and even suspend your sim card for "Commercial Usage".
I saw a post on twitter saying Airtel started blocking third party routers and suspending sim cards, but that might be a commercial usage issue.
Bottom line is, Airtel sim is working fine but be cautious, because you never know, when they might disable your sim card permanently.
I'd suggest getting a secondary airtel sim card if you don't wanna risk your primary one getting the boot.
@ssavy I have a secondary sim just bought yesterday. Have you ever pass the 300GB fup limit ?.Some of the third party Airtel 5G CPE users have been using more than 1TB per month without any speed restrictions (some yt comments also)
@Sanemi I am currently using an Airtel sim card but I haven't tried surpassing the 300GB limit as it is an important SIM card for me.
I am planning on getting a secondary one tomorrow, I'll let you know if I pass the 300GB limit.
But we need a solution for the Jio 5G anyway as 5G speeds in airtel aren't that good.
@ssavy Bro any updates on the Jio 5G ?. I got the OnePlus hub 5G and airtel is Performing well 350+ DL and 50+ UL. But I’m worried about the 300GB FUP limit .
