Hi all,Have just applied for an MTNL triband NU connection just today. I was told that it would take them 8 days for the installation even though I have a modem of my own. Does it really? Well, I was using PACENET before and thought of giving MTNL a try as my PACENET connection was not working and my cable operator told me that they would have to replace the whole line to my place which would cost me 3000/- bucks, the speed was not that great and he was charging me 900 bucks for a 128 Kb unlimited connection. I have been going through this forum for nearly 3-4 days before planning to go for MTNL, so wanted to thank all the people who have posted here. Has definitely helped me take my decision. Well, I'll be waiting for the MTNL babus to start my connection and see how it goes and I'll be back with my view on the same. Oh. By the way, am from Mumbai. Thanks a lot guys. This forum rocks.

Hi,

Applied for MTNL landline connection today in Dwaraka, New Delhi. They said it will take about a weeks time to get the landline and another week for the broadband.

I decided to go for MTNL after SIFY tried to dupe me. I applied for a connection on first week of July. Opted for "Truly Unlimited" pack 1122 + Installation charges. Neither did they install it nor did they refund. Made numerous calls to SiFY CC, Sify Delhi office and the CTO Akash Broadband, Dwaraka but I soon found out that its of no use. Thats when I found this forum and Ankur Raheja's blogs. I realised my mistake soon enough. So caught hold of the SIFY sales executive today and had to rough him up. He returned 1000 Rs the beggar had with him and "promised" to return the rest of the amount within a week.

While on my way back, dropped in at the MTNL exchange and filled the application for landline (which is a prerequisite for BB).

So until next two weeks, Broadband will still be a dream !!!

(At present I am using Reliance RConnect.)

Can anybody guide me as to which BB plan would be right for me? I would be using broadband mostly for my office work i.e. MS Outlook MAPI mail client over a VPN.

Thank you friends.

Try 1399 plan will give 256kbps unlimited and static ip address (voice rental extra).

SNR Margin (dB): 23.6 17.7
Attenuation (dB): 43.5 28.3
Output Power (dBm): 6.8 99.7
Attainable Rate (Kbps): 10088 1163
Rate (Kbps): 2047 511

These are my line stats after 1 am.
but in the day the SNR drops to 12...........................Its only after 1 am that the stats become so good

If its the same line and the same distance to exchange and It can attain upto 10mbps at night, why dont I get consistent performance 24*7???????:wall:
in the day I cant even pull 1mbps as max Attainable Rate:(

My SNR dropped about 10 points
My att shows a diff of about 6 and
Output power went from 6.8 to -12.1

Why do the line fluctuate so wildly?
