My brother wants to buy a laptop for his office work. He requires it for his mostly simulation and designing work using ANSYS, AutoCAD etc.

I was looking through some options and noticed Ryzen processor laptops are comparatively cheaper than Intel processors. Are Ryzen processors good performance wise?

Also is Asus good in after sales service?

Business model....
Expensive doesn't necessarily mean better.
I still despise Intel for selling me a U series proccy on a laptop which costs me 70k in 2016.
Also Intel butters vendors with dollars for selling their processors. Helps to ensure monopoly in the domain.

I saw few performance review videos on youtube. It seems ryzen processors beat intel in performance dept. Then why are laptops with ryzen cpu are comparatively cheaper?
Because most ryzen laptops available have older Ryzen 3000 CPUs which are slower than Intel CPU's. It can get quite complicated for a casual buyer. For example, intel 10th gen had both- comet lake and ice lake SKU's where ice lake was significantly better than comet lake. Even with the latest Ryzen 5000 series processors, there are a few 5000 series SKU's which are actually a rebrand of Ryzen 4000 CPU's with updated firmware. Good luck lol

If you are looking for Intel ones.. , if you can extend budget get LG Gram. It's 8k expensive but still a good laptop. My friend uses it and you can practically abuse the laptop with no damage.
