So, I'd bought this last week. One thing I didn't understand. First it downloads around 240mb of data. Then it needs to download additional data for each state :s Why the 240mb then? Unless ofcourse the software itself is 240mb.

240Mb is the data needed for app and world maps.

For iPhone it downloads around 1.4gb in a go.

Yes. Also, it takes a huge space in memory card if you are gonna use it in city, then not very useful as you say.

The indian maps are developed by mapmyindia. And the basic app is developed by sygic.

No. There is something different. Mapmyindia maps are designed by mapmyindia, whereas Sygic also design their own maps. They two are different. You can use any one.
