i am in chennai now and the speed goes upto 5.5 MBps :obut the catch is, once it moves above3 MBps limit it just disconnects... i am limiting my downloads to 2.5 MBps and works just fine.. seems weird though

Hi..I am too in chennai..(bsnl roaming)

speeds are awesome.. BUT THERE IS NO DISCONNECTION AT all what ever the speed.. I put torren for download, contineously without break..it download almost 19 GB now...

and speeds are constant 4.5 MBPs some itmes it touches 7 MBPS.... (currently i am getting constant 4 mbps + even though my signal strength is just 50 %)

Note: Always asses your speeds via internet download manager or Mobile partnet as it will most close to accurate values... speedtest or all other test websites may not assure actual values....
what you see in download managers are real speed provided by ISP's

Your Huawei E353 kind of settled now and giving you ateast 1-1.5 mbps minimum? If you get 2-3 mbps most of the time from MTNL ,you should be happy!
What is the maximum you get in early morning or non peak hour? I think true potential of E353 can be seen in Reliance/Airtel/Voda may be!

At this moment Bsnl does not have UL plan, are there any users here who have purchased mtnl from mumbai for example and are using it permanently roaming on bsnl? Does this system work fine or there is a catch to it?
