I had disconnection issues earlier when I was connected to my office VPN that time there used to be 10-15 timeouts and the whole process of reconnecting vpn used to take 5 mins again, was very irritating. they have claimed that they have resolved issue from prabhadevi so I was testing ping but noticed these one or two timeouts once in 2 pages so was wondering. Thanks for your input !
@ suhel how is your connection holding up?? still disconnections??

@kartoonz - line bonding not required. My wire length is ~ 2.7-3.0 kms and I get a steady 6.5-7 Mbps on the speed. Stats below (poor stats, I know, but just about enough)
SNR is usually about 6.1, it goes up to 12 only at night/early mornings. Does that mean some device interference?
thats a good thing... today is holiday and all the babus are not if office...

I am on VDSL, I don't have single time out...checked for 150 pings

I can still see one request time out atleast on each ping page, I still have the complaint doc no opened will ask them to try to rectify this or change to new server. I still have to check on VPN if it causes any disconnect though...

ohh ok.. tomorrow is D day for me... will either call up dgm or AM @ bandra or will personally go into the exchage and create a big scene..enough is enough...

Lots of timeouts on pings. This seems to happen once in every few days.

This has been happening in intervals. Can't do much about it anyway.
All in all, I haven't solved my problem of low SNR (6.1), nor can do I want to change cabling from my home to junction box (lots of wire cost). If it ain't broke, why fix it.
@sanke1 - SNR doubles at night (goes up to 12.2). There's nothing around the cabling that I turn off at night. Any clues?

Have been doing ping test / connection test this morning, no timeouts at all since last 1 hour or so. Seems the babus are doing something
My SNR though was never good always hovering between 6-9. Somtimes even fell til as low as 2. As far as I dont get any timeouts and disconnections I am happy for now

So hows it going?

called up the bandra exchange this morning and the babu there said that he will change the port. when i yelled at him that its already done and is not helping he hung up...WTF...then called up my local exchange DGm and he also got furious that i had escalated to DOT... he said that i cant do any thing if you dont get internet at night and can do anything about disconnection...when i spoke to him rudely he handed the phone to the broadband incharge... he told me that there is nothing much they can do now since they have already changed the line and also ports... he advised me to stay on the 4mbps plan and change over to the 4mbps plan next bill cycle...he said that line bonding is required... i told him ok i will pay the money tomorrow, then he said oh no no no... line bonding also might not help and since its non refundable... and if the issue persists then they wont be able to do much...he was speaking crap but was atleast the most helpful of all the babus... i have decided to stick to the 4mbps plan since its sufficient for hd videos and downloads on torrents are also upto 450kbps.... This has been a complete nightmare for me for the last 20 days... when i get some extra cash next year in april i will get a new connection altogether and then try the lowest 8mbps plan to check the stability once again... The BB incharge also said that he will keep me in mind when FTTH is available...
Atleast i am happy that i gave the gdm a hard time and there was chaos for once in the exchange after the email from DOT and the GM from bandra exchange...i could hear him yell at the other guys in the exchange while i was on hold... :)
