Switching to G.dmt has helped a great deal. Lower speeds no doubt, but lesser errors and finally saw a 10 hr session. Moved back to ADSL 2+ for testing and same story - so it looks like they haven't done anything from their side.
Any idea what their promised service quality is supposed to be for these plans?
Thanks. 80% is a TRAI rule, obviously. And that is achievable on g.dmt for me with the SNR Margins, so can't really complain there. The innumerable CRC errors are indicative of line quality and I'm afraid MTNL has no SLA in that department.
Some headway this looks like. CRC errors (and subsequently HEC) have reduced a lot.

Just bumped upon this post .... How did you manage to get speed profile of more than 8 Mbps ( 8192) ? I asked at the exchange to increase by speed profile bit more than 8192 , he said its not possible as your plan itself is 8 Mbps !
