MTNL Broadband is injecting ads on your computer pretending it's a feature

There are. This is a randomly injected popup and can appear anywhere. I have noticed it on many sites myself and I am assuming so have others.
 
Actually if the ISP is involved itself, then they can modify the HTTPS pages too. Read about the Flying Pig project.
 
No one can not modify HTTPS sites without installing "root certificates" (which they use) on client machines.
 
Guys, I still say: write to everybody at MTNL and elsewhere. If MTNL customers will not up this invasion of privacy who else will?
 


@amish You are right, without root certificate it is not possible. We should use https to prevent adphonso from showing popups.
@eskay I have already sent 2 emails to various people in MTNL, but nobody replied.
 
I need forum software to locally cache hotlinked images to properly switch to https. Xenforo has internal feature now. Ipb might have a plugin. Would decide when version 4 comes out.
