ok...i think everyone has pointed out almost everything...just check if splitter is the thing that's dividing ur line between the ADSL modem and the phone...the line shouldn't split before the splitter...actually, it's just ur bad luck :( as you are pretty far away from the exchange...ur SNR and attenuation for 256 kbps is even so low...at 256 i used to have an SNR of above 30, and at 2048 kbps it's around 22...so just for once ask them to move u to 2048 kbps and see if u get stable speeds, which i don't think would happen, but just try ur luck...all the best buddy :)

I told them to do that. They Agreed. They Told me that we had synched you to 2048. But its showing me 256KBPS. Iam currently using 200P Plan. I think they are trying to fool me

@krish_88 : If telephone line is terminated in a RJ11 socket. It has a condenser/resistance combination ( in a PCB)and there could be loss of signal.Open the box and connect directly the rJ11 cable to the splitter.TF line bare ===>>> Rj11 to splitter ====> adsl rj 11 ===>> modem. If this is not the case ignore this posting.

I am having a similar 'ADSL light flashing' problem.
Please see the status of my router ...

What should I request the help centre to do?
I have finished checking with the telephone exchange and have been told repeatedly that my line is 'excellent'.

did u try changing modulation to gdmt? try it. it worked for me.

Its already in G.dmt. Now the line is ok but at times it keeps on blinking. Especially in the afternoons

no i was telling snpexim. and ur line is ok because as i already said they further reduced ur speed.

I am using this MTNL branded router-mdem model: UT304R2 which is a multiport version. (I was foolish to go for the IPTV for a few months and finally had it disconncted after wasting good money).

I changed the modulation setting from ADSL2+ to G.DMT. Saved and rebooted, etc. I did this back and forth a few times. I even rebooted the desktop.

Unfortunately for me, this does not work. The ADSL2+ light flashed more vigorously with the G.DMT. So I am back to the mod = ADSL2+.

The speeds as shown by 'speedtest.net' are poor: 113/197. Note, the download is 113 kbps.

Please help!!!

This is the setup as shown ...

Can someone explain how I can post the attachment showing the router setup. I do not find the attachment button in the message composition box.
The attach picture button at the top require a link. How do I set this up?
Sorry for my ignorance.
