well you definitely got lucky this time around!
Second time I would say. Earlier I had the unlimited Airtel plans, and I managed to avoid getting into the FUP dirt till I actually changed cities. Once here, I chanced into Spectranet as Airtel was too 'busy' to give me a connection. And just when Spectranet started FUP, these guys came

Try using 'Media Hint ' add-on in firefox or sign up for free trial of unotelly as is mentioned in the other thread. That will be a good test of your ISPs network and bandwidth quality. After all what is the use of FTTH connection if you didn't use it for streaming movies?

Also is this ISP hanging its fiber from the trees and electricity poles or are they building underground network like the Airtel does? Are they bring fiber direct to your home or is it fiber to a box somewhere in your society and from there a Cat-5 LAN cable? What kind of CPE they are providing? Post some pics of the CPE.
We should be able to see and feel the CPE in pics even if we are doomed to rot while waiting for upload to complete ar 400 kbps on an Airtel 4 mbps ADSL connection. :sarcastic:

well at least... his own connection would not be the only one that would be affected. i mean the good thing about societies/flats is that either the entire building is affected or no one. that has been my experience with airtel when i was living in a flat.photos of home wiring and the routers would be cool.

LOL @ hanging fiber. This is a proper underground setup to the society. In the society there are a couple of terminals, which then feed the CAT 5 cables to each tower, and from there to each apartment (or flat as called here). Technically, this is a FTTB set up, so there is no new CPE. In fact, they offered me the option of using whatever I had, or pay for a Beetel one, so I just used my existing set up.
I will try to get some pics of the network terminals, though I doubt they are going to be anything exotic

OK, now waiting for the pics of the network terminals. Wi-fi modems can be had from market for 1000-1200 odd bucks. So no big deal if the connection is reliable. I assume there is no login to be done before starting the browsing. I see customers of reliance are always crying about having to do manual login in some webpage before starting the browsing.
