There is no login, these guys just 'allow' your modem at the backend and you are good to go - just switch on and start browsing.Actually since these guys started just this month, there are a lot of processes that aren't set up yet. For instance, this is a postpaid system but there is no online facility to pay, they would be coming to collect the amount every month till that is in place. There is no customer care, in case of issues, I just need to call up one of the two guys who are in this area directly. And the sales persons I talked to seemed knowledgeable enough to know the difference between ADSL2 and fiber, and BPON and GPON. Not bad I would say. A major relief compared to the Reliance 'expert' who told me that Reliance provides it's mobile internet over the towers without any dependencies on any sort of wire or cable anywhere.

@agantuk can you do some Latency test 8.8.8.8 , 8.8.4.4 , 208.67.222.222 , 208.67.220.220 and 202.134.192.88

I mean Hughes itself resells tata/bharti except on sat links, and enterprise only, iirc. Hence my confusion.

Ideally it would have been nice if both for internet and for mobile services, and banking, companies could agree to share on mutually beneficial terms and divert part of the savings to enhanced services rather than fight for the same common denominator. I was reading an article (not sure about accuracy) that SBI has close to 60K ATMs of the 1 lac ATMs in the country. That makes a majority of the other 40K ATMs redundant. If only these guys had agreed to share the infrastructure, some of the savings could have been diverted to improve (mostly dysfunctional SBI) ATM machines and allow for a more sustainable expansion.

I saw the advertisement board in Dwarka sec-10 market and advertising the FTTH launch in Dwarka, Delhi. I visited their website and tariff plan looks awesome. However my sec-10 DDA flats is not in the list, however just next wall society is in list. So called their customer care no and they promptly picked up. However since my DDA housing society was not listed, I can not get the connection. They told me that they are working on and kept my mobile no to call me once available. I asked to give relevant person number whom I can talk and asked to lay down cable as I am a member if RWA and arrange the permission. But he could not arranged that. Now I have to wait !!

I received call from people working in Dwarka, New Delhi.They are working on "modalities" with our RWA to get permission for laying cable...what to say !! Can understand why India is behind !!

I was going to get this connection.. its available in my society; realized that i needed the landline, just asked airtel for a landline only plan only to know that its worth 699 bucks a month! wtf?!
