Nokia

agree .. that there wont be any model by week or month this will definitely take time .. they tied up with microsoft .. so dosent mean they will leave Symbian platform .. they will continue with the same but at the same time they will bring few new model with wp7 .. i guess they will come up with max to max 3-4 model in mid and high segment ...wp7 alone cant help them .. they need to work out there strategy .. Nokia always priced there mobile highly and with in 6 month they drop the same by 40 % ... that is bad .. this is do or die situation for them .. but if the delay happens they will be in sufferer more ..and if i remember correctly the talk between them started few months back .. and there new CEO (if am correct) is ex-microsoft only .. so its too early to define relationship between them ...

god help Nokia now that they are dealing with three different platforms. and god help the owners of nokia n8 who have been so amazingly discarded within a couple of months.

between one more thing .. Nokia is becoming more microsoft ventric ... Here are some of the highlights:Nokia's "applications and content store" (Ovi) will be integrated into Microsoft MarketplaceNokia Maps will be at the heart of Microsoft's Bing and AdCenterMicrosoft will provide developer tools to Nokia (So no Qt?)Symbian is now described as a "franchise platform" with Nokia planning to sell 150 million Symbian devices into the futureMeeGo emphasis will be on longer-term exploration with plans to ship "a MeeGo-related product" later this year (not products)can we smell new take over by microsoft ??????????????? just guess

let's hope google snatches away as many good folks from the meego team as possible now that they are going to be rather pissed off.

Nokia Q&A reveals more MeeGo details, tablet plans -- says Android 'risk of commodification was very high'

from above link ....

No specific announcement for when we'll see the first Nokia Windows Phone. Ballmer mentioned that the engineering teams have spend a lot of time together already.

why not android ??????????

Nokia did talk with Google about adopting Android but decided that it "would have difficulty differentiating within that ecosystem" and the "commoditization risk was very high -- prices, profits, everything being pushed down, value being moved out to Google which was concerning to us." Microsoft presented the best option for Nokia to resume the fight in the high end smarpthone segment.

so i think they are afraid of the competition in android segment

Engineering teams indeed have spend lot of time together ..Engadget has leaked some photos that show prototypes for Nokia phones made with Windows Phone .. So it seems to be a a marketing ploy by Nokia .. :D
Here r the pics ..

Exclusive: Nokia's Windows Phone 7 concept revealed! -- Engadget

Anyways windows mobile 7 is a decent OS .. Only thing is they need to keep it updating every few months like android keep doing it .. They just can't release one version and sit on it for 2-3 years ..

Did they really have an option at this time? WP7 could still work for them, as it is not a dud in terms of what it brings to the mobile platform. Nokia's reach might just turn WP7 into that mass mobile OS that it aims to be.

wp 7 is far better than symbian 3 .. they have put lot of efforts in symbian 3 but its still fail .. so they need something to survice and they thought wp7 will help them ...still there are many ppl who love Nokia for there hardware .. the built of the hardware .. so still have small hope to come back again ...
