Hi Sendil,Which STB you have right now ? If you have Dish TV HD STB, then could you give another try ? Since, the HDMI output needs to be set to 60Hz to display it on NTSC TV, it will need to be set to 60Hz before you connect the STB to NTSC TV via HDMI. Is it possible to access this HDMI setting and change the output to 1920x1080i@60Hz ->Save it -> Disconnect from the TV & PAL/NTSC Converter -> Re-connect the STB directly to TV via HDMI ?Now that the HDMI output is set to 60Hz, I hope, it will work with NTSC TV directly without a converter. Please let me know if you can try this.I am talking to a technician to try this on my TV. I asked him to set the HDMI output to 60Hz by connecting to a PAL TV in his showroom and then bring the STB to my house. But right now there is no stock there. I will contact him after 2 days

I have TataskyHD , i tried the way you have mentioned, it 's not working as it need to convert PAL to NTSC even though the HDMI output is set to 60Hz.

hey guys let me know ASAP..becoz I am planning to buy LCD from USA. muralia do u have any suggestion??

Almon,If you are buying a TV in uSA, then please buy a multisystem TV which supports both video formats ( PAL and NTSC ) and both 110v- 220v 50Hz/60Hz. So far I did not find any good solution to work with NTSC TV models in India. Converters won't do a good job. If you buy a very expensive converters then probably it would do. VGA out is OK but not upto the expectations. So, please buy a multisystem TV.

Hi Muralia, looks like I have the same Sony Bravia 46'' LCD TV as yours. I know you were trying to get this to work using DISH TV DTH. Do you know if Sun Direct STB will work? I have read in many forums that SUN STB's support NTSC output? Please let me know, your response us much appreciated.

I heard that SUN DTH model no CDVB6750 supports NTSC. I do not know about any other SUN DTH STB models. Dish TV STB has VGA out. So , if you buy Dish TV STB, then you can connect VGA out to your TV's VGA in. It does not have NTSC/PAL problems.

Sendil,

Tata Sky does not have 60Hz , 50Hz settings. It will only output at 50Hz.
Dish TruHD has this settings. So , I was wondering whether you tried this with Dish TruHD or not.

See below link. Dish TruHD STB worked fine with NTSC TVs for some people who tried.
