that means, that is display card or monitor problem...seems like same problem but quiet different.

dude you should try and re-attach your video card and then try and boot the pc... make sure your cpu fan is working blowing air into the cpu socket

also, after starting for first time it works perfectly. no lags in monitor if i restart it.it only happens first time.

Well as of now, my PC is working after 1-2 mins of tries.. so as of now i am letting it as it is.. TOUCHWOOD please :D

ok... now this PC is dead! ... not really..though...but has become unusable as of now.

the problem does not seem to be related to above problem... that problem was mostly some kind of moisture problem during rainy season.. after monsoon it had not come back. i.e PC was starting instantly without any problem from last 2 months.

the current new problem is that it starts automatically when i switch on main switch... even without pressing power button on comp. but then within 10 seconds it switches off. and then again after 5 seconds it starts automatically and again switches off... sometimes it stays ON for abt 30 seconds but eventually goes off... and cycle continues.

i changed the SMPS (i had an old one in spare) but problem still remained. old SMPS was working fine when i stopped using it abt 1 and half year back. so i hope its still fine.

so what cud be the problem? power button? motherboard? what else? can anyone tell me? thanks in advance.

I had this similar problem with my new PC few months back & since I could not find any solution to it I removed every component from the motherboard including the processor, cleaned them & put them back. Since then (fingers crossed) my PC is working fine till date.

believe it or not (TOUCHWOOD), i just thought lets try one more time.

and from abt 3-4 hrs.. its working fine.

but that also means that sword is handing over my head...

i cant buy new PC (hoping this PC is working fine) and cant trust this PC anymore either.

since the PC seems to be running just fine... i guess there are no hardware problems as such! the power button must be the issue. :| i guess u can test out by using the manual way of booting the machine using the motherboard. i think you need to use a screwdriver to connect two metallic points :P i have seen assemblers do that for testing motherboards.

LOL, yes i was going to try that.. but since now its working fine using power button...i havent didnt try it.i dont want system to fail because i dont have time to buy new PC these days.
