Pls help me in Port Forwardin of UT 300R2U Router!!!!

port fowarding will get more speed than DMZ ? I didnt know that. Read all his posts. For him, DMZ and direct downloading gives almost same speed ! So if he remove DMZ and port foward, will he get more speed ? I am not aware of it !

Direct downloading and torrent speed differs in either way...

If there are less seeders and they keep upload speed less, you will get less than what is expected.. even much less than direct download !

If there are many seeders and many leechers, you have a chance of getting the maximum speed !

Direct Downloading

If there are more people downloading the same file from same server, chance of less speed..

If there are less people downloading the same file from same server, you can get the maximum speed !!


And, finally.. you havent told about putting the screenshot in this site.. for that, we have to come to your blog.. ! Keep it up !!

@essbebe,i have confirmed that BSNL provided newer ut300r2u don't have port forwarding option & you can't use the link trick in this modem too because BSNL is using scripts to hide the url links by not using a simple html page in configuration.here is a source code(firefox--->ctrl+U) of configuration page of ut300r2u which you can see is completely different from a normal html page for,say,your modem---

hey whitestar there are two UT300R2U's .. the one above is UT300R2U but there is another utstarcom ut300r2u.. theres a bit of confusion i guess regarding this.. it maybe possible with the utstarcom one!!

As you said, most of them seem similar, except for one model.

@members/whitestar_999/: You are giving too much credit to BSNL.All the modems/routers they order are on lowest quotation basis !!!May be the contracted company imported and
supplied a batch with faulty firmware !!which BSNL staff did not notice/did not know !)
Recently same problem for Sl2_141 was reported and @ridam tried telnet/hyperterminal etc.
( usual blaming of BSNL )
After my suggestion now he can access PF page ( virtual server) directly in modem.
I gave the suggestion because the FW appeared similar to beetel 220BX.
Para two : Only a person , who has UTSTAR 300R2U with Virtual server option available, can tell the web address. such as 192.168.1.1/index1/main.html etc to show Advanced options.

By the way, my very first post in IBF was about PF in Beetel 220BX for an application called Echolink, and I learnt about this main.html option only then.! Unfortunately all my old posts ( 1 to 3600 are gone/deleted/ and only latest 500 posts are availble. ( 20pages x 25 posts)

portforwarding wont get more speed than what you already get in dmz.
dmz(demilitarisedzone) opens up all the ports.

my dear friend ,i am a member of not only this forum ,but couple of other forums too,imagine puttting screenshots in every forum.!!!!!
but u might say ,u can copy/paste things ,but still it takes time and patience neither of which i have in excess.
moreover, my content has helped many of them,its worth trying out,than giving up.

What BSNL has allegedly "hidden" same code as posted by you function also same.
Beetel 220BX1 is showing with same "hidden" code Virtual server &port triggering.

if bsnl is inviting tenders or for that matter any company it is free to dictate any terms & conditions & assuming bsnl dictates in the tender that firmware should be with some modifications/restrictions companies will only oblige to get the tender.i seriously doubt any company will made/produce modems which require tricks to access their supposedly advanced functions as simple as port forwarding if company cares even a bit about it's reputation in retail market which clearly is not the case in OEM market.older ut300 modems with advanced options available,newer modem provided by bsnl including siemens c2110,ut300r3u,siemens sl2_141 all requiring tricks to access port forwarding simply a coincidence??i don't think so.companies as different as starcom & siemens making almost similar so called faulty firmwares across a wide range of modems.i.e.type I/IV(port forwarding not available)!!
