not related but i found this dumb promo at vodafone mumbai site:
Vodafone

the std bonus promo which gives calls to std mobile & landline at Re. 1 is for Rs. 120

another promo pack gives the above as well as local calling for Rs. 0.5 for both mobile & landline for Rs. 95..

dumb people making dumb promo packs

the std pack costs 120while the std + local pack costs 95who will buy the standalone std pack of 120 while for 95, you get both std+local packs

The day Airtel or BPL or some other Private Operator announces a talkplan in Mumbai, Vodafone/Hutch will launch the same plan in less than 24 hrs

I think Essar even with its 1000's of crores cant do anything infront of Market forces

Not everytime dude. The Rs. 200 rental and outgoing to any no. @ 50p is yet to be launched. Airtel has made this plan available to all its customers.

looks like vodafone is trying to focus more on their contents rather than improving their network....

I don't think Vodafone Live is really cheating us.:P Some blame that they are billing you more than what you download. There are many reasons for billing you more::whistle:1. :thumbsup:As you know data loss is possible in internet which is much higher in wireless network. So if you download a 10kb file you may download more than 11 or 12kb.2. When you download a file it is not a simplex(one way) connection. Your mobile have to send acknowledgement packets to the sender. It would also add to your bill.3. :thumbsup:Signal Strength in the area where you are accessing the network is also very important if signal is good then good data rate and low error rate. If signal is very bad then your download may even be double than what you download. Many more reasons are also possible.I think this can help some people.:)

even surfing is counted as downloads and u must have surfed quite a bit to find ur favourite ringtones :DIMHO Vodafone is quite good and provide good service :)

I dont think the Vodafone is fooling in any way, they have clearly written that this is for the abroad. see the statement bellow, "That's not all - the vodafone mobile connect USB modem also gives you 3G broadband speed while roaming abroad" correct me if i am wrong? Rashid

@ mates my point is tat AIRTEL doesnt charge for browsing and free downloads if tat specified download is been sold means then only it would be charged so when comparing with AIRTEL,VODAFONE has to improve many things

Tried to open the link posted above & currently not available.@rashid - I guess wht u r saying is perfectly correct. I had browsed thru some of their links while lukin out for net access & it clearly stated tht u wud get EDGE speeds i India & wud get 3G speeds in foreign networks currently providing 3G services.
