:mad::mad::mad::mad:
so you see it's been many days and there is no hope i guess.
firstly i had to wait for 24 hours to file a complaint as their system was down and i was given a complaint number and they had asked for 2 days.
so i call after 2 days and what do i discover they don't pick my phone. i assume customer care executives are 'BUSY'. I call after few hours same result. I call from my mom's phone they pick it up and i am told that postpaid department and prepaid department are different and the complaint number given to me is an enquiry number and not a complaint number. a request is taken by the executive that i can call after 4 hrs from my prepaid and they will pick it up. but then again no contact after 4 hrs (either their computer disconnected me or the executive himself disconnected and in some cases the computerized menu didn't register input)
filed a complaint on their website and no contact.
so i ask a friend with a prepaid number to call customer care he was successful.
so i conclude. CUSTOMER CARE HAD BLOCKED ME.

but i didn't give up and keep calling them with my mom's postpaid. they get fed up and DEACTIVATE outgoing on my number.

i'll conclude that even mtnl's customer care is better and they talk politely and at-least register a complaint in 1 go and they don't have silly computerized system.

vodafone people have been posting a lot of comments on my blog post here: Vodafone Customer Care

all the comments have a unique link that points to their customer support page. i am assuming that they are indeed treating complaints individually. rather strange.

Hello Friends,After the Rest Of Bengal circle, Vodafone Kolkata Call Center will also become chargeable wef 20th Mar 2010 00:00 hrs. The IVR would be free, only the agent-assisted operation would be chargeable @50p/3 mins !The complaint IVR of 198 will be launched on the same date which would however be for complaints only and would remain toll-free !

The mobile number portability would be on us and very soon I would have a REAL choice to migrate to other service providers. With the SAME number. I have been on Vodafone for past 3 years primarily because I had no choice. I dont want to go through the hassle of informing everyone about my changed phone number too. Nevertheless, Vodafone sucks because:1) One of the WORST customer care. Don't be fooled by their zozos and heavy advertising binge. They have one of the worst and the most unresponsive customer care. I have tonnes of emails exchanged with them regarding a network issue. It took them months to respond and they did because I brought TRAI in the ambit. Avoid it like plague. Puke Puke.God forbid you in you ever call up their customer care. 2) GPRS? Forget it. These morons are stand alone players. They feel that by overcharging they are going to recoup their losses for "value added services". For every kb, they charge you the bloody earth. I have always wished to stay connected but it's one of the worst case scenarios. 3) Are vodafone dudes on the forum? If I hear it right about hiring reputation managers, they have to clean up their act on the blogs and on Google searches too. Unless they invest real money to hire some fancy SEO. Or they could invest in making the customer care responsive. 4) Worst implementation of DND list. I have set my number in DND list (Do Not Disturb) and still I get a lot of filtered calls from unknown people selling me shares, stocks and God knows what. My mobile is an extension of my life and I hate it when my privacy is violated. Despite repeated calls, the fockers fail to even acknowledge the fact and I end up wasting my time with them again. Vodafone sucks. Clearly sucks. Don't ever contemplate to shift over for insults with other service providers are still bearable but not with Vodafone.

applying to DND can take up to 45 days. did the problem exist after 45 days? or were you expecting instant karma?

I can agree with only ur GPRS part. Yes! They have the most sh!tiest GPRS tariffs among all operators.I don't have any other issues with them. You feel their customer care sucks? huh! which operator acc to you have better CC than Vodafone?

on that front i am pretty much satisfied with my aircel connection... i pay 1 paisa per second for both local and STD. there is a fair usage policy on this charge for STD calls which i think is 1500 minutes per month or something like that. i pay 98 bucks for unlimited data transfer. speedtest on my mobile tells me that i get speeds of up to 15KBps on it. i have not tried tethering the connection because i do not need that facility right now. there are some cool money saver packages... 9 bucks a month for 100 free sms (local and national!). 49 bucks i think gives me 1000 free SMS... network is fine in Delhi NCR region. not sure about roaming as i do not travel outside much. i do carry around my old tata indicom connection for backup sake. :Pi have called the customer care once after getting the connection. it worked fine. i got myself all the codes that i needed to activate the addon packages myself... so i can renew any of the packs myself from my own connection. i just need to have sufficient balance in my account.

Ever since I have Vodafone, I haven't tried any other operator. As for the superlative, it happens to be a personal interaction. I have mentioned the entire details on my blog and you are most welcome to read it. It took me months before I could have the in building solution installed in the premises where I work.

Anyway, as for the DND, I have had it activated for over a year now; ever since it was launched. Despite that I am spammed by SMS's to no avail. There is no "instant karma" in this country except for "instant coffee".
