@Samm If all else fails then waiting till Sept 2011(even though its a wrong date given by Vodafone) is the only option. About taking time to update may not be true in this case as its an erroneous date they have given in the first place for it to change, Vodafone will have to admit there's been an error.

UPDATE 8-2-2011: Today I notice that the date displayed when I dial *141# has now been changed to 2nd Nov 2013. I don’t see why this confusion.

All these years the expiry date displayed for this command was the expiry of the SIM card ie the license period that too was mentioned there.

1) If the expiry date displayed is for the expiry of the license period then it should be ‘28-11-2014 (till license period)’. Those were the exact words displayed in the past.
2) If it should display the expiry date of the bonus card (this crap was given to me by Ms. S at the Vodafone Store (Prabhadevi Mumbai), then it will be 2nd Nov 2012 AND NOT what is now being displayed 2nd Nov 2013.

O why can’t they employ people who can read AND understand emails?

I just got a call from the ‘Feedback section’ (yes that’s right) enquiring why I was not happy with my visit to their store on the 5th Feb 2011. I told him the entire story, he seemed quite taken aback when I told him that I written to the Nodal Office as the supervisor in the store had recommended. He seemed more intelligent than the others I had spoken to so far & agreed with me that the date displayed so far was the expiry date of the license of the operator. They had announced in the past to all lifelong customers that the date shown would be wrong, as there was a shortcoming in their system but later on they seemed to have displayed the date correctly (possibly used a temporary work around & then forgotten about it). The entire confusion happened ONLY BECAUSE the bozos at the store insisted it was the expiry date of the bonus card. He told me it would be rectified soon . I am hoping for the best.

I am expecting a call from the nodal office today will update with their spiel, later.

Strange!! Vodafone's experience was pretty bad for you. I hope your problem is resolved as soon as possible.

You used international roaming :O & you used gprs while on international roaming aboard. :ishock:
One has to be very careful what one goes in for as its common that 'bade bade operators aaise chote chote logo ki buch maarte hain'

Yup they charge 400Rs per MB when u use GPRS while roaming internationally. (as per my last check on their intl GPRS rates, if my memory serves me right)

Wow they have now increased it to 550Rs per MB :ishock::rolleyes:

Vodafone Postpaid - Activate GPRS Roaming | Mumbai

The charges for data usage on International Roaming are flat Rs5.50 / 10KB. Hence for downloading 400KB the charge would be Rs220

UPDATE: 9-2-2011 To post #30 Got a call from Vodafone but when I asked if was from the Nodal office he said ‘Back office’ its only after I got a email just now that I realized he was from the Nodal Office. I wonder why this subterfuge. Maybe its to avoid their responsibility in some way. Anyway to cut a long story short he agreed that the people at the store had blundered big time (they have stopped apologizing) & agreed with me that the expiry displayed was of the license period & mine was shown as 28-11-2014 at his end, & said he would ‘forward’ this to the concerned people to have it corrected. From the way he was constantly being prompted I guess he was another raw person ‘learning at the job’. He even volunteered to forward my complaint of poor connectivity to the network section unlike the store who told me ‘get a letter from your colony’. Now I wait & watch.

Wow As I type this I got a call from their network dept regarding & they have promised to look into the matter.

I am someone who recently moved to Mumbai. I have few contacts to call here, so I barely use my cell phone. I do most of my conversations using my landline mtnl number. The average number of calls I make per week from my cell phone are less than 5 (all local). And I make about 5-6 local SMSes per week. Coupled with the number of harassing telemarketing calls, no voicemail box, my cell phone is pretty much useless to me.

I have been a Vodafone postpaid customer, but every month I get charged bills that amount atleast to Rs500. I was on 199 Plan, where you pay 199 every month - but I dont remember my bill ever being less than 500 any month. So I went to Vodafone center (every time I go here I wait atleast for 45 min) and I asked them to change my postpaid to prepaid. One of their representatives talked me into taking the 0 rental per month plan. I agreed. Then I was out of the country for another month. I come back get slapped with a 500+ bill again, (and I havent used the phone at all cause I was not even in town). Then one day I check my plan and see its still 199 Plan. I go back to Vodafone, do the same old ritual where I ask the representative to change me to Prepaid. She looks into some history and finds that the last representative had submitted my form for 0 Rental and had quit the company so she would process it again, and she asked me to wait for it to come into effect. I said ok...then after 3 months, I again check my phone Plan by dialling 111, and see its still on 199 Plan. And guess what there is no 0 Rental plan, and if there is one, I am certainly not on it.
:notallowed:
I am done being fooled by Vodafone and its representatives. I took this network just because I once was an Orange customer and a happy one at that. Sadly, Orange is no more, and Vodafone, and all that remains is the innocent face of the Hutch puppy which Vodafone exploits to keep Orange's faithful customers. I am done being fooled by Vodafone. So I have cancelled my Vodafone account.
