@designwebgraphic, @adder, it is quite understandable Customer-Service, afterall you guys are enjoying the 'pre-launch'/'Testing' Phase !!! You guys help them learn all the tricks so that they become experts in troubleshooting by the time of commercial-launch.

Yes we can not rise this problems untill they launched. We are tester only. This problem make dealey the launch and ISP at Varacha confirmed me that all STB which has problems will be changed with new STB.The batch come after May 2008 have some problems. So don't worry.Ane bhai free phone service hati tension hu karava lai.:D Tara gare koi aave ne tene keje mane STB change kari aape! Te loko kari aapse. Mara ma koi porblem nathi. Mara baju wara ne same problem hato pan change kari gayela::dance:

@India, I thought old STBs were problematic, if batch after May-08 also had problems then which ones didn't have problems? (I mean does the problem apply to all STBs so far?)A request to all gujju bhai's- can you please stick to English so that most of us can understand?:)

Beta testers must get the service free or at highly subsidised rates; in fact they should be paid for becoming voluntary guinea pigs. Big TV will benefit immensely if it organises a structured feedback. It all started as for reliance employees only with the rentals to be deducted from the salary; it is now going places!

Ok, and i hope they change this existing STB with exactly same as shown on their [email protected] yeh, dont bother about gujju lang. we will translate and repeat in english in a same reply too. i respect your concern.

@adder
ok.. but whats an outcome? any solution did they give yet? if yes, what sort of it? any clue of changing this existing faulty STB with a brand new one (same as shown on a site?)

well all they did was send a person who comes with a new stb(existing old model).he saw that i had kept aftermarket fan and heatsinks it took a while to know what it was and then i said him its get hot so he changed the stb,even after changing it gets hot so after a week i again gave the complaint about stb hanging then he came again and he told me that this is will be solved after the commercial launch and that i need not put the heatsink /fan combo he said even if it stb goes kaput within a year they will replace.but one thing i noticed is that the stb hangs a lot less when its cool by adding heatsink/fan.
when asked about the STB shown on the website he said he hasnt seen them yet but he say it will be launched when commercial laung takes place.

the problem is i have given a lots of feedback but the CC dont understand the technical words and are very poorly trained some dont even know english properly.then dont know what is a 16:9 mode ,component out,even though the CC uses a 16:9 7inch lcd.
they say they can see the video in full screen ,but little do they know , that the lcd is streching the image to full screen,rather then a true 16:9 video signal.

most of the time they dont even take down the feedback.

the all CC peoples are geting experience / feedback from testers (who is using Bigtv now). they don't have any idea about new problems, that time they will hold the line and ask with the experts. in my experience, first time i have asked about ISP channels (991) they give the answer that it will be opend after commercial launch (saying like totally confused) second time they are confirm that it is not for public it is only for the engineers of Bigtv, i.e. Instllation Service Provider (ISP) channels. that means they are developing their knowledge like this. So please cool and watch the bigtv as a tester.

yeh, it may stretch images on LCD when you use 4:3 format. change to 16:9 format and you will get it to suit LCD. STB allows to change it. try it out...

well i have set it to the 16:9 mode and have also connected via component out but the STB still gives a 4:3 signal despite changing it 16:9 mode in the STB.

then i think you're not pressing a CONFIRM button at bottom. press a DOWN ARROW button after the 4th option and it will take you to CONFIRM button. Press OK there and see if that works!
