Guys...
After lodging a complaint, 2 guys from BIG TV came at my place and did nothing. Just checked few things and done nothing.

Refused to change STB. They said, "they can only change after they receive an order from a company to change".

I said, "ok, i will i will wait till commercial launch and then will lodge a complaint again".

He said, "yes, thats fine. We will then be able to give you a Version 2.0 STB only after a launch"

At last,
I asked about launched and he said "15 August - CONFIRMED"
He also added "we know, many people dont believe but as far as we know - its 15 Aug".

Reliance to launch DTH services on August 15, to carry 200 channels

Thats the latest news getting scrolled on CNBC TV-18.

then i think you're not pressing a CONFIRM button at bottom. press a DOWN ARROW button after the 4th option and it will take you to CONFIRM button. Press OK there and see if that works!

well i tried all that months ago , besides i have mentioned all the problems in big tv 2 months ago and every time there was a new software update i tried again still doesnt work and the CC has no answer nor the supervisor.

the only thing thats taken off the list of my complaints in big tv is the pogo ch which used to come only in hindi ,now comes in english :thumbsup:

I dont know whats going with it but i am going through a big time disappointment these days. Dont buy as soon as they launch.- These days (since past few days and today its major) i have been facing lots of problems. STB getting hanged very frequently - once every hour, menu is not scrolling properly, its getting tooooooooo slow, voice is getting off frequently, i had to reboot again and again.- QUALITY - a major disappointment - since last 4 days, i am experiencing (not bad) not so good quality. all channels are having pixellations (it wasnt like this when i subscribed - it was damn crystal clear). I hate pixellations and have been facing that problem and it seems like after they added few more channels last week (191 total), i am seeing pixellation problem. thus i guess, its not gonna be resolved and it will even increase that problem as they are still gonna add few more channels. I am scared now. hope it doesnt mess up but i am very much scared.

i am also facing the same problem in Delhi, my friend (who hav the Bigtv connection) also in same condition. i asked about the same with the rep. of Bigtv (who installed the connection). as per him it is not due to settop box. they are doing some major updation in signal also. hopefully they will do some minor changes in dish direction nearby. please keep cool now, u must remember that now it is in final testing period and we all are sucessfull testers.

i am having 2 more problems and i lodged 2 complaints in last 2 days!! [1] STB getting hanged and VERY VERY SLOW menu operation[2] "Smart Card Error" and then STB stopped completely. Now i am not able to see anything at all. Red, Green, Blue lights keep coming on/off - any 1 of them is not staying steady! The WORST customer service. Engineers are not efficient too. Very bad experience i am going through in past few days. Damn!!!! Hope they do something about all these as i am feeling a "Reliance" effect at the moment. And look at the number of complaints they receive in just 24 hours of time (even before a launch)11.Aug.08 = 7379**** (Slow/Hang)12.Aug.08 = 7384**** (Smart Card Error)Its an 8 digit complaint number... 11 Aug, it goes ahead with 79**** and today, its from 84**** Think after a launch!!! Its a scary situation! Anyway, can anyone guide/help about STB R, Y, G lights just keep coming On/Off and not staying steady, what shall i do? (as their engineer will only visit tomorrow and not before that). Anyone can help guiding me what to do in STB?

dnt worry buddy, u'll get replacement for faulty STB. who knows you will get PVR STB in replacement of old STB

I am just expecting a magic now!!! nothing else! hope they do something sooner tomorrow. I was expecting by today evening but disappointment as usual.so my tv is not a bigtv tonight.....

try pressing in ur remote RED,RED,BLUE,RED and power button.

Yeh, i have done all of them - everything.
from remote, fromt stb - everything. nothing happens as it just dont take any action because its not staying stable in any 1 state.

Constantly happening:
RED GREEN YELLOW
RED
GREEN
RED

... and Again (back to step1): RED GREEN YELLOW and so on... (as shown above)

I guess, STB must have a problem. Today morning they will be coming.

Lets see what they do! (I wish this time they change STB).

Yesterday when they came at my place, i asked again - "launch date?" and 1 of them said "15 August - 100%"

I hope, they replace these existing STB with a newer version 2.0 as shown on a website.

By the way, you must have got a user manual, right? (not a thin one, i have almost a 50 page manual)

it shows a picture of a new version2.0 STB and they also show 5 main menus (Guide, Select, Reminder, Settings - and 1 more, i forgotten)

I think they still have to do lots of work on it!!!

Anyway, lets wait n watch.
