well i have heard that model 2 stb is better and has all the bugs fixed, but the best part is that both model 1 and model 2 are being sold and people are blindly buying what they are getting, guess they have huge stocks to clear out :ashamed:

the best part is that both model 1 and model 2 are being sold
Where in Bangalore can one get model-2? I saw only model-1 at 3 of reliance world showrooms.

There is not much difference between both model so go with anyone. But you can make request them to provide Model 2

Since last 2-3 days they might have been working hard on it!!!I am having some problems that STB is losing channels and volumes (both disappear after certain period of time)Channel transition time increased....Pixellation (almost in all channels) increased a lot....No new channels added yet...HOPE they do something about all these things soon!!! (else how would people buy it when they will see such things while seeing a demo at retail outlets).

well, wait for 2 months, in october both airtel and videocon are launching thier dth services , you will get good offer's and packages then:whistle:

Wait is not worth as they will be in testing phase too. Airtel (would be for class) can be good but Videocon would be surely the worse (must be for the mass). So go for BIG TV - its for everyone who wants cheap channels and still the best quality.

Videocon could be the underdog that could surprise everyone in the market.they manufacture television. they acquired an international consumer electronics brand. they are a pretty formidable group in this market.the company can easily bundle a year of DTH connectivity with their television sets. that alone could fetch them thousands of new customers... they can easily generate money from the television set. something which no other player can do at the moment.

Problem is that they have limited 6 Transponders only means they can't provide more channels then other MPEG4 DTH service porvider. Also for Airtel, they have less chance to come by this year as they need a seperate permission for forigen investments.

I dont see any bright future of Videocon - its just an "outdated indian firm" these days. They even cant compete their competitors in selling TVs (Sony, Panasonic, Toshiba, Hitachi, LG, Samsung, Onida, Sharp, BPL, Philips, VU, Thomson and lot many other small companies too). I dont think much people (those who are buying new TV sets these days) are keen to buy Videocon TVs!!! If they are not wanting to buy their TVs then why would they buy their DTH alongwith it!!! LOL  And think of an inflation again!!! (Big super malls, hypermarkets like - Big Bazaar, Reliance Mart have changed their strategies and reducing costs by decreasing space of their premises due to inflation and less interest of consumer buying) - so lets see how these DTH companies survive in coming months!!! Surely they are gonna have a BIG tough time to face. Anyway, lets see what future has written for them!!
